  • I didn't enjoy the second series of Spiral as much as the third. I'm glad I persevered.

The Returned was brilliant. Makes most British drama look rubbish.

Broadchurch was meant to be the British equivalent and I had that figured out early on and the clues and red herrings were pitiful.

Got to just join in and say how brilliant top of the lake was. Beautiful scenery as well, I also really enjoy Sebastien Bergman , Wallander and of course the excellent killing .Any others for me to look out for in the same genre please?

I LOVED the Returned! No idea what was going on but oh my, I haven't been that gripped by anything... well, possibly ever!

I also enjoyed Top of the Lake, the scenery was stunning. But so many strange people in one place, I've not seen that since watching Deliverance :D

Check out http://nordicnoir.tv/ - these are the people distributing this stuff in the UK. I find stuff on their site and then rent it from Lovefilm. I am currently working my way through Unit One which is like a Danish version of Arne Dahl & has the wonderful Mads Mikkelsen in it.

    I LOVED The Bridge!

Can't wait for the second series to be aired over here, but no date set yet :( I do love my Scandinavian dramas, they do it so well!

The Returned I though was very good, although I was a little puzzled at the final episode!

And Arne Dahl was also very good!

I'm also a big fan of the Nordic television series.

I thought The Bridge was particularly excellent. I also thought the Wallander series was better than the Ken Branagh version.

What surprised me was how quick the subtitles seemed to go from being very prominent to almost forgotten.

I tried the American version of the Killing but didn't like it at all!

Yes. I know what you mean re the subs they just don't matter if the story and acting is that good.

  • I didn't like Arne Dahl or Top of the Lake.

Mads mikkelsen was great in Hannibal though. His brother is the actor who played Troels in The Killing.

Oh, and for fans of The Bridge - have you seen the publicity recently for the French/English version, The Tunnel
