Ofcom having issued 07744/07755 prefixes to the now dissolved Dolphin Telecom and On 28 January 2002, the Secretary of State granted Inquam Telecom (Holdings) Ltd (registered company number 04244115) (‘Inquam’) a licence under section 7 of the Telecommunications Act 1984 (the ‘1984 Act’) authorising Inquam to run a telecommunication system from the said purchase of Dolphin Telecom at a cost of 25 million pounds. As of 8/6/07 o2, T-mobile, Orange, 3 & Vodafone are not allowing cross network calls to the Inquam Telecom mobile prefixes 07744/07755 at the standard rates they allow to the other 5 UK networks or allowing the description of a monthly service fee paid by consumers for cross network calls to use these prefixes, although these are mobile prefixes as released and regulated by Ofcom itself as UK mobile numbers, we the public feel any trading UK mobile company should not bar us from using the aforementioned said mobile prefix codes from within our contract cross network allowance or either be charged at a seperate pricing structure from the charges to other 5 main UK networks as per our network & service plan agreement. The matter of the main 5 networks saying these are " calling card " services run by Inquam Telecom is niether here nor there, Inquam Telecom saw an business opportunity in the purchase of Dolphin Telecom's assets and who are the 5 main UK networks to dictate Inquam Telecom's services it provides to its customers or indeed that a Ofcom issued mobile prefix is not a UK mobile number, all the while the UK regulatory telecommunications body Ofcom turns a blind eye, we the public furthermore believe the 5 main UK companies disallowing these Inquam Telecom prefix numbers to be charged accordingly as a UK mobile via our UK network service plans or indeed deducted from our contract allowance's cross network calls minutes also fall liable under the Trade Descriptions Act 1968 and equivalent Trading Standards Acts - advertising cross network calls to all UK mobile network's when indeed this is not the case, we ask our elected goverment to fully investigate Ofcom's ongoing silent stance on this matter, while also asking our DTI to investigate through it's powers in conjunction with the above mentioned Acts to fully investigate a serious wide abuse of the telecommunications industry where all 5 goverment licenced mobile telecommunications companies are falsely advertising with thier networks description of " UK mobile cross network minutes "( or any similar descriptive ) that all mobile companies in this country claim to provide yet not one of the 5 UK licenced mobile companies do.

Good first go but needs some serious editing and punctuation. Brevity matters. Besides I think taking the issue to the provider and Ofcom directly will prove far more productive than MPs. They've enough on their plate. If you're not bringing gravy to help ease it down, don't expect to see much of an appetite.
No criticism to you, of course; I'm glad others are as annoyed about this change (and how it was done) as me.0 -
EVERYBODY needs to remain CALM and COMPOSED.
orange, vodaphone, virgin and t-mobile all want you to become agitated regarding this and they have introduced some red herrings to try and confuse the situation.
follow this and you should be alright.
1 call orange to say you wish to advise of your intention to cancel.
2 get whatever ref they wish to give you
3 send letter by recorded delivery detailing your intention to cancel as the t & c's have changed to your detriment and make sure you send by recorded delivery.
4 check to see it has been delivered and then call orange to say the letter was sent recorded and it has been delivered, can you speak to somebody about it.
5 at least two weeks before your cancellation date call them to obatain a pac code so you can retain your number - they know you have done it all right and will not be able to charge you for the pac code as you are cancelling as per your t & cs
5 if nybody starts talking rubbish about access codes etc, tell them you are NOT concerned about information they have just learned about these numbers, as far as you are concerned they are mobile numbers as ruled by ofcom and as such they WERE as per your contract due to come out of your allowances
6 if they continue the company mantra about access codes then say that you are not interested in late breaking information regarding these numbers , you are only interested in the specifics of your agreement with t-mobile which gives you the right to cancel the contract giving notice appropriately.
7 dont argue with them, just carry on and pursue your course - do not allow them to throw you off course and make sure you ask for a pac code two weeks before its due to cancel / from when your letter on your intention to cancel was served, so your number is not cancelled and lost.
8 if you make a call regarding this or if they they call you back make sure you "NOTE" the conversations so you can easily recall the conversations just like pressing play on a tape recorder.........CS it could be implied may often "ghost" conversations they have had with you or it could be implied that they may deny things that have been said, by making an outbound call to you.....
9 remain calm, orange and the other networks know the changes they have introduced and know that very few people will see it to the end so they continue to put red herrings in the mix - as long as you have served notice on them detailing the detrimental increase, by registered post, they cannot legally deny you the right to cancel the contracts as per the clause - ALL THE NETWORKS KNOW THIS !
10 remember the networks are not going to let you go easily and will try and delay you, trick you and scare you with talk of cancellation fees etc - its all talk, remain focussed and they will release you from the contract - make no mistake about that !professional mum and bargain hunter0 -
Virgin are also making some sort of announcement on 1st July.0
