When my mum was in hospital last year she had to go for a CT scan so whilst we waited outside they asked me to take her earrings out. But she only had one earring in. Mum was unconscious so couldn't help. When we got her back to the ward we checked her bed. No earring and when she was translated back to her bed we checked the bed she'd been taken down on. No earring. I know she had both on as I'd said a few days back when I looked at them that I'd take them home. But forgot.
Just put the one earring in my pocket and put it away when I got home. Thought no more off it. Mum passed in December sadly and I've obviously not thought about it.
Was hoovering last week. Took the cushion of my mums chair to Hoover (obviously something I've done numerous times since) and there was an earring under the cushion. Picked it up and grabbed the box thinking I'd not out it away. Opened the box to find it already had the earring I'd brought home in. So now I have both. The one I brought home and the one that went missing 8 months ago.
Absolutely no idea at all how it got there. Was lost in the hospital and sadly my mum never made it back home.
I'm not saying I think something supernatural happened. I've no idea. But I can't explain how an earring that went missing in a hospital 5 miles away ended up under a cushion I've loved numerous times. I'm happy it did though.Sigless0 -
BiL lost his wedding ring in his back garden and even bought a metal detector to try and find it. Never turned up. About 5 years later, SiL was hanging out the washing and she saw it glinting.
I lost an earring and it was missing for months. I eventually found it under the bed although I had checked several times. Even found the butterfly. Very happy as it was my good ros! gold studs which I wear all the time.
The day before BiL and Sil's wedding, MiL found a tape of a ouija board performed the evening before FiL died in which he was completely ignored. Everyone else at the table was mentioned (or whatever, let's not get into semantics!) apart from him. MiL hadn't seen the tape since that night. She also found her wedding ring the same day and wore it to the wedding.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -

I lost mine on my wedding night. Found it a few days later left on the sink in the mens toilets at the place we got married in!
I then lost it again (can't remember the exact circumstances, other than it appeared in an old tesco carrier bag after a week of looking)
In april this year I lost it again, but this time it was properly lost at center parcs. Went swimming, took my ring off and put it in my pocket. Forgot to put back on after, remember being in the pancake house went to pay and heard a ping as if something dropped. Thought nothing of it until day later when I realised my ring was missing, searched high and low at pancake house and never found it after hours of looking (assumed it was nicked by a cleaner or other guest). Drove back in my car annoyed and upset.
Found it a nearly 2 months later just lying in the passenger seat of my wifes car, had cleaned and vacuumed it just a week or two before.
Someone up there does not want me to lose it!
I've told my work mates about the ring, and played on the whole 'it can't be lost' story. One day I bought a cheapo ring from ebay that looked near as dammit like my real one (at least to someone who doesn't see it everyday). Took my real one off put on the fake one went to work and dared a friend to hide it and not tell me where (I found out after she chucked it in the weir). Should have seen their faces when I came in to work a week later sporting my real ring. However I'm now a bit scared that they'll try and take my real ring on a drunken night out and it really really will be lost!0 -
In 1978 when I had my first well paid job(£69.50 per week take home) I saved up to buy a pair of boots in a shop in Camden Town where I worked. The boots were £40. By the time I'd saved up enough money to buy them they didn't have a pair left in my size
so I put the money in a zip pocket in my then bag.Fast forward to 2009 newly divorced I decided to have a good old clear out on ebay. Needless to say the 70's bag was made of good leather and was considered vintage but before putting it up for sale I had a good rummage.
Outcome I was 40 quid better off but how much I wished it was worth the same as in 1978!0 -
I lost my one and only emotionally precious ring. I had no idea where or when as I didn't notice until going to bed one day. I was really upset especially as I had no idea where to even start looking. I felt bad as it was a family heirloom and I was afraid my family would notice and ashamed to tell them I'd lost it.
About a year later, it just suddenly appeared in a very strange way as I found it on the floor under my ironing board in my spare room. I had been ironing there every week for all this time and never seen it before. Very odd but I was absolutely over the moon.0 -

What lovely stories from everyone....
We all had a good look through the project and were reminded of a lovely summer holiday...
At the time I remember the project being set and thinking with dread how we would fill the days with enough things to write about...but rereading it now it comes across a wonderful carefree summer...
I was amazed that the people who were clearing out the shop took the trouble to return the bag of projects to the school...and even more amazed that the school took the time and effort to mark and return them
