Hi all, just moved and realised the telephone point is in the next room. such a pain. Please advise as to the easiest way to connect my box to the router. Is a wireless sky box an alternative and how much is that? If I was to go down that route what happens to all the data on my existing box?

You could use a long ethernet cable, or buy/blag a wireless connector of Sky, or use a pair of powerline homeplugs..

They would charge you £200 or so for a new wireless box. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

However, you may find that wireless reception is such that a set of Homeplugs gives a better result. Try the connector first. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
