Any computer clever that can advise with this message: "the GETMACHINE_GCC.EXE file is linked to missing export WINSPOOL.DRV:XcvDataW."
Basically we are trying to connect our new cutline machine to the computer and this is the message we get trying to open the software we have been emailed as unfortunately it did not come with the disk.
Any help gratefully received as we currently look like this

Cutline machine?
Basics: what OS is your PC running, and what OS is the software you have been emailed suitable for?
You need to get the software that will work with your operating system. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Hi Macman,
Thanks for your reply.
Basically we bought a "Cad cutter machine for vinyl cutting" as we are starting a heat press business.
We've tried it on Windows 7 and even got the **OLD** PC out of the attic. I was emailed a "driver for 32 bit" - if that makes any sense. (I apologise if I'm not making any sense, I will be honest, I have no idea what I'm talking about.)
We were told if we downloaded the file onto our machine we could follow the instructions on screen, it opens on both machines, but it stops at the same point on both, it's almost like it's not recognising the cut line machine is attached to the PC0 -

Windows 7 comes in 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Most 32-bit software will work on a 64-bit OS (although not vice versa), but the exception to that is with device drivers.
If you hold down the Windows key and press the "Pause | Break" button, you should see the system properties which will tell you if you are running a 32- or 64-bit version of Windows.
If you're running the 64-bit version, you will either need to obtain a 64-bit driver or reinstall Windows using the 32-bit version.0 -
And you need to know what OS the driver you've be sent will actually work on.
If your 'old' PC was XP, it's almost certainly 32 bit. but the software may be only suitable for Vista and later, W7 and later...W8, etc etc.
Why isn't the retailer or manufacturer able to support their own product?
Find out what version of W7 you are running as above (probably more likely to be 64 bit), and then contact them to obtain the correct driver for your OS.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Unfortunately it was an eBay buy

Stitched up? How? Not unless it clearly said 'software supplied for ABC OS', and it wasn't. The seller couldn't have known what OS you were running, and you failed to ask what would be supplied.
Go to the manufacturer's support site for that model and see if you can download the software for W7. Or call them for support.
Have you checked if your PC is 32 or 64 bit yet, because you're going nowhere until you know what you need.No free lunch, and no free laptop

I'm at work at present, so cannot check from here, hence why I haven't replied. I will check when I get home. It was not me that bought it so I don't know the ins and outs, I was just advised that I should be able to plug it in a go.
I have today found an online manual so will also give that a read through when I get home0 -
Google manufacturer and model number together with
download
driver
installation
and similar terms, singly or in combination. Or just go to the manufacturer's website.0 -
Thanks. My PC is 64 bit and the software is 32 bit, so I will try it again tonight on my older computer0

But, as already explained, you need to know what OS the driver you already have is intended for. Not just whether it's 32 bit or 64 bit.
Your old PC runs XP, so almost certainly 32 bit. But it still won't work if the 32 bit driver is designed for a later OS: i.e. Vista or W7/8. You already said that you'd 'got the old machine out', so that implies that you've tested it on XP and it won't work.
What you need to do is try to obtain 64 bit drivers that will work on the PC you want to use it on: 64 bit W7.
How is the device connected to the PC-by USB?No free lunch, and no free laptop
