Which is better....

Options
I`ve got 2 choices for when I move house.

Stick with Talk Talk who I`ve been with problem free for 6 years or move to BT. Here`s my options :-

Talk Talk - 12 month contract, £5:50 pm unlimited broadband, free line rental for 1 year, subscribe to BT Sports for £12 pm

OR

BT - 12 month contract, £7:50 pm unlimited broadband, £11:75 pm line rental (paying up front of course), BT Sports included, free Home Hub 4 (worth £109) + free delivery

BT £2 per month more expensive, although customer service better + would get the home hub delivered free. Customer service (on the 0800 number) may be an issue when it comes to house move time....

Maybe I`m missing some obvious factors. Any advice welcomed!

Yeah a statement I live by! But I figured that as I was moving home anyway then issues may arise, plus I`d like BT Sports :)

  • then just stick with TalkTalk. If you do agree a new contract with them, best to get it confirmed via the Talktalk forums.

If you move and don't stick with the same ISP you will probably get hit with a cease charge even if out of minimum contract term - these are usually ~ £30 but can vary from ISP to ISP so check your T&C.

If you do change ISP then sign up through a cashback site. Ignore bloated valuations of any kit provided.

Is this definately the case even though I`m not in a contract? If so, then it seems ridiculous to me :o

You are in a contract, you are just out of minimum term. Cease charge is imposed by BT OR, and passed on by your own ISP. Nothing to do with a contract, and you'll find that the TT T&C's allow it.
Why only BT or TT? What are your other LLU options? Sky? VM cable?
