I often use www.companieshouse.gov.uk at work, to see if any Ltd firm has a different address to what we have, and whether still trading (ie, no dissolved etc)
something came up on twitter, with a link to http://www.worksmart.org.uk/company/index.php
which gives a little more (FREE!) info..

I've just checked my company and can see the exact same (free) info.0 -
you could also check using these

Duedil also has the same information, they each display it differently and try to add value on top. I quite like the duedil site as it has some useful markers for gazette entries, but there's not a heap between them usually0

I only found the duedil site recently. How accurate are the figures?
One company had just closed down and said £12,000 in the red after deducting the assets. In the process of insolvency.
Vodafone millions in the red with an adverse marker? (i think)
But another smaller company had a healthy mark with a bank balance of £8000 yet £500,000 in the red.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
There's nothing out of the ordinary in running a loss whilst having a positive bank balance.0

latest turnover / profit figures, for one.
see this co, who owns Allied Heathcare. AH were featured on Channel4- £5m profit, though their over worked carers are on zero hours contracts..
