Bad Drivers

I don't mean to sound offensive, but you have no idea what you're saying. You seem to struggle with the basic meanings of words and what things actually mean. In the nicest possible way and without hostility, but if you don't understand that being inconsiderate doesn't necessarily make someone a bad driver then i'm not sure it can be explained to you.
I do what speed i feel comfortable at for my car, in conditions that i deem suitable for said speed, and depending on whether i feel it is dangerous or not. As i've already stated, i would never merge into 60mph oncoming traffic and do 40 out of being pigheaded. I take different scenarios and situations into account. What i don't give a toss about is when someone sits up my !!!! because they're too impatient to sit behind someone doing 25 in a 30 zone or whatever. I have absolutely no consideration for those people, because they're the morons who can't drive properly.
That doesn't make me a bad driver. My full car and motorbike licences, passed first time with hardly any minors on either, and my 9 years of driving without personally witnessing, causing or being involved in an accident say otherwise.
It does make you a bad driver because you are inconsiderate to other road users.0 -
I'm adding another:
If you're going to pull out in front of me, then accelerate. It's the peddle on the right. If you have a low powered car, then don't pull out unless you have sufficient space to get up to speed! It's your car, so you should know his much space you need to accelerate.
I'd like to add to that, the people who think that just because they have their indicator flashing, that they can pull out in front of you. This seems to be more and more common these days.0 -

how long do they take to update?
But they should update more update more quickly when the obstacle is long gone and the limit is so slow. Would have not been bad as being a 50mph. But 10mph.0 -
If you honestly think that then you are complete idiot.
The quote from the highway code said especially slow moving vehicles, so clearly applies to all vehicles that have a queue forming behind them. The slower the vehicle is moving the more important it is they give way.
It would be absurd to think the rule applies to a tractor or moped but not to a Porsche travelling at exactly the same speed as them just because it isn't generally classed as a slow moving vehicle.0 -
If you honestly think that then you are complete idiot.
Why?
Surely like many things, it's all relative.
If for example you live in the UK and have an IQ of about 108 then you will have average intelligence.
However, if you move in with a group of boffins whose IQ's are all in the 130+ range then you will appear to be an idiot compared to them.
If you are driving on a road and are doing 40mph and everyone around you is doing 55-60, then to everyone else you will appear to be a slow moving vehicle.0 -
so if your on the motor way doing 40mph would this count?
Eg when you see the abnormal loads going along the motorway with a van behind it with flashing lights on. They are often doing about 40mph
Okay the motorway is often going faster, but only by 10mph.
Some one has decided that the speed level is to low so need extra caution to make drivers aware of the situation.
So if vassa car is most economical at 40mph on a 60mph road. Its not going to change where their car is on a motor way.0 -

Yes, these signs are so generally ignored that they are often impossible to obey. If I drove at 10mph on a clear motorway where everyone else is doing 70mph then I would be recklessly endangering my life and everyone else's. I've never seen one as low as 10mph before though, normally about 40mph.
You just have to look well ahead and make sure there is a big gap between you and the car in front.0 -
Ok, to take this 'discussion' away from the controversial speed issue here ate two others which hopefully others will agree with:
1) I try and keep a reasonable distance from the car in front, especially in poor conditions. I really hate it when other drivers pull into that gap at speed and then brake too heavily when trying to avoid hitting the car in front, giving me almost no time to react and brake to avoid hitting them.
2) When two lanes merge into one its generally polite and definitely efficient to have one car from one lane, followed by one from the other. I really hate it when inconsiderate drivers ignore this and force their way through, forcing you to take evasive action to avoid hitting them.0 -
"Merge in turn" signs - many drivers think that only applies when THEY need to merge into traffic. If they are ALREADY in the traffic line then it doesn't apply to anyone else.0

My instructor told me there would be no chance she would be passing that test, she is making a dangerous obstacle of herself and would be receiving a major. Whether or not this is true I don't know but I think there certainly is too slow.
yep I was failed for doing 60 on a dual carriage way on the inside lane as the examiner said we were only staying on for 1 exit - apparently too slow for traffic. My driving instructor was sat in the back of my test and said it was completely unfair but said you're wasting your time appealing their decisions0
