A car isn't a 'slow moving vehicle'
is a car a vehicle...
YES
is a car moving slowly IF it builds up a tail of traffic
YES
so it is you who does not know the rules.
my posting of the highway code is pointless...
your post has 100% shown why people get annoyed, thinking the rules dont apply to you, that they can do as they please and its everyone else who has to work around them...
you would fail a driving test for it, as its makes roads more dangerous places.0 -

REALLY
Are you asking if it’s expected that drivers will follow the rules once they've passed their tests! (which is after all, what the test is)
I can’t believe I read that.
I do hope you don’t drive?
Of course we all make mistakes, but to say that, “well you have to do that to pass a test but after that it’s okay to ignore it” is frankly SCARY.0 -

People don't always drive as if they are taking their test.
That doesn't necessarily mean they are breaking any laws.
One example:
When taking your test you must not clip the white broken lines when you are turning into a side road. If you do it once the examiner will find another side road and see if you do it again. If you do, you'll fail.
Once you've taken your test there is no need to be so precise; if you can see that the road is empty there is no point in making an elaborately sharp turn. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

The uk driving test is a minimum standard. The expectation is that drivers will continue to improve. Hearing presumably experienced drivers referring to the driving test as a standard to be maintained is scary.0 -
The term 'slow-moving vehicle' in the context of that sentence refers to a vehicle which by design is slow moving, not a vehicle that's just going slowly.martinsurrey wrote: »is a car a vehicle...

Feel free to personally attack me though.0 -
I suppose ol' Martin rigidly drives with hands at quarter to three in the push/pull motion, never ever waves/flashes/beckons a car or person, always strictly checks lights and tyres (including pressures) before any journey and other things that you're taught to do whilst on driving lessons..Norman_Castle wrote: »The uk driving test is a minimum standard. So I'm sure that you won't have any problem providing something that proves that rather than it just being your interpretation of it.
A Porche 911 could well be a slow moving vehicle if it was towing a caravan.
Irrespective of the definition of what the term refers to in the Highway code, the first part of 169 refers to all road users and not just those that are classed as slow moving:Do not hold up a long queue of traffic0 -
It's understanding a basic sentence, read the sentence from start to finish...if you still don't get it then your local adult community college will provide free English lessons.George_Michael wrote: »So I'm sure that you won't have any problem providing something that proves that rather than it just being your interpretation of it.

Oh sod it i'll help you out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slow_moving_vehicle
A slow-moving vehicle isn't necessarily a vehicle that is moving slowly. If it was, the sentence would be written differently.0 -
So today I was with a student driving them around so they could attempt to identify the cause of certain noises coming from the vehicle. While driving on an A road at about 45 mph another driver decided to pull out from a blind road (there is a convex mirror so they could easily see me). As I was only a few yards away when they decided to pull out I hit their passenger side as I didn't have enough road in front of me to come to a complete stop.
Said driver was actually quite apologetic, but get this, he was driving a courtesy car as the same thing had happened to him five days ago and his car was still being repaired!0
