Royal Mail Signed For

Hello,
Apologies in advance if this is posted in the wrong place - I couldn't find anywhere more relevant than here.
I posted three separate letters to different addresses at my local post office on Thursday morning (Signed For). None of them have been delivered yet. Yet a letter that I posted from another post office down the road on Friday was delivered yesterday.
I find it strange that none of the three letters have been delivered yet. I phoned Royal Mail and they told me they have daily pickups from every single post office. The most likely situation in my mind is that the letters are still at my local post office (they have misplaced them etc) or that they have stolen them?
They are all pretty urgent and I was counting on 1-2 days for delivery.
Thanks

How do you know they haven't been delivered?0

I think you may have used the wrong Royal Mail service. I don't think RM signed for gives guaranteed delivery times. I think Special delivery guaranteed is what you should have used. Custardy, the resident MSE RM guru will correct me if I'm wrong!0

Signed For often doesn't get a signature on delivery. So will show as undelivered when it's gone through the letter box for example.
After the appropriate time period if there is still no signature, get a claim form for each letter and send into RM saying you want the Signed For fee back.
When I do this I get a book of 6 first class stamps as compensation.0 -

You're right, it doesn't give guaranteed delivery times, it travels with regular first class mail, but it has now been 5 days and still not delivered.0 -

Therefore read KxMx's post. They most probably HAVE been delivered, but not signed for so no track and trace.

This makes sense, but as some of them are legal documents I really need a signature to prove it has been received. I guess I should have used Special Delivery, I might resend them but don't want them sent twice so I'm not sure how much longer to wait.
Also every single time I have used this service in the past, I have gotten a signature. It would seem strange that all three letters went through the letterbox as opposed to getting a signature?0 -
Have you heard from the recipients that the letters haven't been delivered?
If they have been delivered and a signature not obtained then there won't be proof of delivery from RM i'm afraid.0 -

You have proof of postage and that is normally enough to satisfy the courts that the items were delivered.0
