Enterprise / unfair terms / puncture
Hi all,
I have already seen a few threads on this. I work for an Architect and we have a corporate account with Enterprise and I hire a car once a week, so we give them a fair amount of business! I was shocked when I arrived at work this morning to find we had received a letter that we were liable for damage excess (£100), the damage being a puncture.
Obviously we don't want to, or feel it is fair, to have to pay for a new tyre. Firstly, this is a ware and tare item. Surely they should be responsible for things such as tyres, wind screen wipers, oil etc etc?!?! Secondly and hypothetically speaking, are they really suggesting that we would be responsible for a tyre blow out at 70mph, threatening lives or causing an accident, all because of a faulty tyre? Surely you need to remove the wheel or raise the car to fully inspect a tyre?!?!? How can that be our responsibility???
One thing which might be in our favour, when they dropped the car off I was not around and one of the admin ladies inspected it for damage. However, nobody from our company signed the forms which say you agree to their terms and conditions.
Please can we get some advice as to where we stand and if we can get away with not paying?

Are they saying they found a puncture after you returned the car and left it?
Dispute the puncture, Suggest it probably happened when they moved the car.
You hire a car every week is not a fair amount of business, Others will have many cars on hire each day.
Unless you really are a big customer then i wouldnt push that too far.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I'd have though they would need evidence that the puncture happened whilst you had the car as opposed to before they delivered it or after they collected it.
Was it noted on the inspection when they collected it from you?0
