That's the negative thing about this forum, unlike other because you can't close a thread down after the OP has had their question answered.

  • putting 20 quid in and seeing how far it will get you is a total waste of time
how much fuel was in there when you put your 20 in
    how big is the reserve
how quick does the needle move

you need to fill it right up, then drive it for the week, then fill it right up at the end, the cost of the refil is the cost of the fuel

your method has too many unknowns and is flawed

    Calm down, calm down.
It's not a serious scientific experiment, just a rough estimate based on filing up as soon as the fuel light comes on and going by a range of 45 miles remaining.

The process has worked previously and will continue to do so.

Has the car been serviced recently? Do you know when it was last serviced?

[STRIKE]Or, could it be the DPF regeneration?[/STRIKE] Just read it's a petrol. Sorry! :rotfl:

Yes it has just been serviced.
In excellent condition for its age.
I only intended on buying it as a temporary car till next summer.

Now I'm seriously contemplating buying a newer one.

I know, But heaven forbid that another user may find useful comments on the same question, Yet want more details.

Why dont they delete all posts over 10 minutes old?

    Keep the forum cleaner.

80MPH is still breaking the limit. I don't what's clever about publicly owning up to speeding.

I don't know why my text was removed. It wasn't offensive. I just wrote "It didn't take many posts for the holier than thou brigade to appear". Compared with some of the stuff you read on these boards, why was that comment removed?
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

Check out the hot UK deals website for a near perfect model.

Your ten minute clean out idea is about as silly as your responses in general.

That is not a factory 00 bora clock. Just do an ebay search for "bora clock" and you'll see these what the factory ones looks like. The clock seems to be installed from a much newer car, maybe the 2005/06 golf.

Thats why your speedo and tach is completely wrong.
