Made to feel unwelcome in restaurant

recently attempted to dine out at a restaurant near to where we live. we both love asian food and decided to try a restaurant that seemed to attract mostly asian customers as this is often a good indication of the food being good.
from the moment we walked in it was clear they did not want us there. at first we were ignored then eventually an older man came up to us and just said "yes". we asked for a table for two, but it soon became clear he could not understand us. he kept talking at us in another language before eventually shuffling off to a back room to fetch someone else.
the next member of staff spoke better english and asked if we wanted to eat. we said yes and he then kept going on about "you know the food is asian style are you sure". we assured him we knew what asian food was and that was the reason we had come there. He then started on "ok, but no alcohol allowed, ok", that was also fine, we explained we only were interested in the food.
we were sat down and some menus were brought over, it wasn't a big menu but it was pretty much the standard pakistani fayre served around here. after 20 minutes nobody had come to take our order, so i got up and collared a member of staff to ask if someone could come and do so. he seemed very dismissive and again, seemed almost to not understand me. i explained we would be leaving and he just said "ok". that was it! what an odd experience and definitely wont be going back

Sounds like they didn't want you there so you never going back is probably what they want.

you could get an Urdu Phrase book and learn a few phrases and then go back and then shock them when you speak in their language0

Poor service does not make it racist. They didn't refuse to let you eat there so you can't prove its racism.0
