Can I ask a slightly different question ?

Our kitten/cat is about 5 months old. He loves going outside at night, but doesn't want to go out in the daylight - he just sits on the doorstep looking. Is this normal ?

Cats are more mobile during the night. Is he neutured?

Cats are so active at night because they are a relative of big cats that includes the bobcat and the puma. Just like her wild counterpart, your cat will be active late at night and early in the a.m.
  • my bengal tom is just six months old and I wondt be letting him out hes gaging for it, I think if he got a wif of a female he would run miles.

He is due for his opp in two weeks so after then he can go into the garden for short times

Well done, although letting a Bengal roam free he could be a target for theives.

can i suggest when letting cats out for the first time please put a body harness with a length of washing line rope on them as being so quick and nimble they can in a flash be over the fence if startled.

You can train them to walk on a lead you know?

They're very different from other cats (as I'm sure you've found out :D ).......we get a few odd looks but more often than not people stop and remark how beautiful he is.

We have a business park close to here that fronts onto woodland and we pop him in the car and take him there in the evenings; no traffic, no people, plenty of wildlife and bushes for him to sniff and chase.

Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.

Our boy who is about 3 wants the back door open all day.....he doesn't really want to go out, just sit by the top step watching the birds.
He has a hatch to under the floor and out through a hole in the wall, so he can come and go as he pleases. If I shove him out to close the door, he is back in the kitchen within a minute wanting the door open again.
