Talk Talk to Plusnet, anybody else made the move?

My current contract with Talk Talk thankfully ends this month. My current internet download speed is approx. 3.2mbps. This has been achieved after a lot of hassle earlier this year, previously speeds where less than 1mbps and downloading anything took forever. Would have considered the Youview box but everyone tells me that this effectively halves download speed and I don't want to be watching buffering all night long.
Thinking of moving to Plusnet and if my sums are correct for unlimited broadband and anytime calls at present the deal is £7.99 per month for 12 months and £14.99 thereafter. Line rental £14.50 a month makes a total of £416.82 for 18 months.
Talk Talk I know throw in a "free" you view box but they would be £10 per month for 6 months and £15.50 thereafter plus £15.40 per month for line rental. Total for 18 months £523.20, £106.44 more than Plusnet. Included with Plusnet is 25% off international calls.
I'd love to know whether Plusnet could offer me a better internet connection. Anybody else made this switch?

`If by 'better', you mean 'faster', then, since your line speed is primarily down to distance from the exchange, switching ISP's will not necessarily speed it up.
You may have to go up to FTTC if you want more.
But 3.2Mbps should be adequate for streaming iPlayer etc.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I would say imo Plusnet have great customer services. What I've had selling at the door (basically lying to me multiple times), talktalk are rubbish.0

Ask Plus to give you an estimate of download speed range and use the minimum figure as what your likely to get.
I got an estimate from BT of from 1 to 4Mbs and get 1.4 Mbs.Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0 -

:rotfl:Well I did what MSE always recommends and phoned Talk Talks retentions line. Was made an offer I couldn't refuse £5.75 per month for anytime calls and unlimited broadband for 12 months. Unless I'm missing something it beats any offers I've seen online and it only ties me in for another year.0
