Just a fairly simple question.

If I pick up a contract through one of the websites offering cashback and generally dealing with all networks how do I negotiate the change of the contract or a better deal for a renewal?? Do I do it with them or with the network? How does it work??

This is done with via your service provider. Generally your service provider will be your network operator itself but there are some exceptions. For example, the service provider for an O2 contract connected via a Carphone Warehouse owned company would be O2 CPW. They are independent of O2 and would be responsible for billing and all customer service issues including upgrades.

Ok, I see. So generally is there any difference between negotiating the new conditions and haggling with them than with O2 directly (if I would ie picked up a contract in o2 store/online)??

They are two totally independent retentions departments, although CPW like to call theirs 'loyalty'. They will offer different retention offers. Some think O2 CPW offer the better deals, some think O2.

Personally, I would not recommend going near O2 CPW, but the reasons why are beyond the scope of this thread.

Im not actually planning to go with O2 but was just wondering how does the whole thing work.
    Thanks for the explanations!
