fascias soffits and guttering and downpipes

Hi
Just moved into my first house and it looks like we need to replace the faascias, soffits, guttering and a shared downpipe.
Could you please let me know the best type of people to contact to give us a quote (i.e. would it be a roofing company) not to sure really who deals with it and how much we would most likely be looking to pay.
The house is a two bedroom end terrace and the guttering is only on the front and the back. The downpipe is shared with next door but it is on our land, would they need to contribute to its repair or is this not expected of them.
Thanks
Emma

I live in the South East and i have just had a quote come through to totalling at £750 we do not need scaffolding and the soffits and fascias are based on just the front and back of the property and we have two down pipes:
To remove existing rotten wooden soffit’s and fascias and re clad in Brilliant white UPVC soffit’s and fascia’s at the front and rear of the property
To replace all guttering and down pipes with correctly fitted shallow flow guttering and clips (Black)
To seal and trim with white sealant mastic where needed
To include all labour
To clean and make good
All UPVC comes with a 10yr guarantee
All work guaranteed for 3 years from date of completion

Is this an okay price?0

I shall be watching this, because I've been quoted for basically the same job and in a cheaper area of the country. Quote was £3,500 (gutters/soffits/fascia boards/3 downpipes).0

Sounds fair to me.0

moneytooshortoomention - If it helps at all i worked out the cost of the materials first which was roughly £400 and they said it would take two days to do so labour was only £350.
It may be worth working out how much the materials will be on your job first and subtracting it from the total cost to find out how much they are charging for their time. Does your job require scaffolding as that puts the cost up by £1k also if you have any extensions this also makes the job more difficult and time consuming and adds more to the price.
Excellent i think i will confirm this quote then as i thought it sounded okay. I was quoted by another firm £750 to just cover them and a £1k to replace.0 -
It looks fine to me. If you allow £ 50 - £60 per linear metre fitted for budgeting purposes you'll get a good clue.

We got our gutters and soffits etc replaced when we bought our house. We live in a 3 bed dormer bungalow, so the work included the front length of gutter and soffit above the ground floor windows, same at the back, replacement of one single storey downpipe. It also included the guttering and soffit and side trim to the new double glazing on 4 dormer windows. There is also about a 2m downpipe on each dormer (to drain from the gutter onto the roof if that makes sense). Our total was in the region of £2k, in Scotland. Our house is relatively wide, front door in middle and a room on either side so although its a 3 bed, it's a decent sized 3 bed, as we have a livingroom/dining room all in one, plus another room downstairs, then the 3 bedrooms and another bathroom upstairs.
I think under 1k for a house without dormers would be good value. I think a lot of the work on ours was probably around the dormers. That's where we certainly saw the huge improvement where black rotted wood was replace with white upvc. We got black plastic guttering and it looks fine. Our neighbours were looking at having some work done but were keen to get cast iron guttering. I didn't even consider that...the plastic is doing a good job (touch wood).0
