HI guys!
Just wondering if anyone is trying to buy a house or sell a house in Northern Ireland at the moment. Would like to swap notes on how you are finding the market. it seems to have died in the last few weeks.
Thanks!

you might be better posting this on the dedicated northern ireland board?
market is slowing down but this just means that it's taking maybe a month for your house to go to sale agreed instead of less than a week. prices aren't really dropping.0 -
Thanks thetope!
We had 6 viewings in our first week with 1 offer at asking price and absolutely nothing since now we are in our third/fourth week!!!

well you can't really complain if you have an offer at the asking price, can you? i'll admit it's nice to have people fighting over your house but at the same time it's pretty good!
maybe give your estate agent a ring to give them a kick up the bum, maybe they aren't pointing people at your house anymore cause it's slipped down the pile?0 -
How about accepting the offer at asking price - that's if they are still interested!
Your post just makes you sound greedy. If you 'only' get your asking price then you may be able to pay 'only' asking on the next place you buy.
p.s. why set an asking price if you're not willing to accept that amount???

Sheesh.
Sheesh yourself!!:p
You are obviously not up on the current market in Northern Ireland!!! We have an offer in on a house that is £25K above asking price.
I'm not greedy, hence I asked for those who are buying/selling in NI as they would know what the situation currently is!2024 Challenges- Grocery Budget (January £0/£300)

Don't mind Tara. She's a regular on the House Price Crash forum and she's very grumpy about having missed the boat herself. It's just sour grapes.Stercus accidit0 -

Mmm-hmm. Well, obviously nobody currently thinks that your house is worth making an offer on. The house you are bidding on may be in a more desirable area and thus hold its value better. Not saying that that is necessarily true as I don't know where you are selling and buying - would you be able to say?
That's the beauty of the free market, eh? Houses are only worth what someone is prepared to pay - and able to borrow. And with investors thin on the ground and banks tightening lending criteria, you may find it hard to sell. Good luck anyway :cool:Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Hardly a stalker if you post on two public forums using the same username.Stercus accidit0

As you say, you don't have a clue what you are talking about.
We have an offer, but I was asking about the NI market in general. I suggest if you don't know this particular market and you have nothing constructive to say, go buy yourself an icecream and get the taste of sour grapes out of your mouth!:D2024 Challenges- Grocery Budget (January £0/£300)
