I've never been involved in a cancelled flight from Aberdeen. Indeed I've only experience a 20 min delay in take of at worst.
But lets look at this objectively, you point out that this was peak time, first flights in the morning, where there is a number of outbound and inbound flights, which are tightly scheduled.
From a management position, do you : -
* Delay one flight a few hours (remember they may have had to unload the plane as well),
else
* Delay every inbound flight until the available slot a few hours later
My experience of baggage collection is that it is very smooth and often I am waiting longer at larger airports
You had an unfortunate incident, it's however the exception, not the norm.
I didn't say it was the norm. Anyway, no harm done. As I said, Aberdeen seems a nice place and I've now found a quiet spot in the airport where I can go and read my Kindle, so I'm content.

Does Aberdeen Airport hold a special place in your heart?0 -
Aberdeen is such a fine city,a city where both of my daughters graduated.
One in Rural Development and the other in Mechanical engineering.
I like any other caring father with the means looked after them by buying them both, a semi detached three bedroom house on the outskirts of the city in Kingswells, which is well placed for the park and ride and also a couple of miles drive to the airport
This enabled them to rent two bedrooms out to college friends.
Since 2002 both houses have increased in value by over 110% and without the hangmans noose of a mortgage should leave them both with a future with less obligation to the vile banking system.

The ashlar was much more redolent of the Firths/Inverness area.

LOL
Which is about the same distance from Aberdeen as Cambridge is from Hull.....

Still waiting, hours later.....
OK just the one for you from the many.....RenovationMan wrote: »I'm not particularly interested in house prices either and find the constant multiple threads discussing the minute movements of a particular house price index to be supremely tedious

Well you have a car don't you? So I don't think we can absolve you from blame just yet. You need to provide proof of where you were on 5th October, otherwise I'll be onto that phone number to grass you up.
They'll get out an APB for a rich "Hamish McTavish" residing in an expensive Aberdeen house, always drinking malt, and with a fixation on house prices. They'll pick you up in no time.0 -

You've just described most of the population of Aberdeen....
Surely they can't ALL have pooped down his chimney?“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
