New flat, Broadband and tv best options

Options
Hi guys

Moving into a new flat soon, and want a decent broadband speed and unlimited (mainly used for general stuff and netflix etc on xbox, maybe some games on xbox) also a tv package nothing fancy just general channels and if possible some of the sky channels like sky1 atlantic, knowledge channels like discovery with some way of recording them or some kind of planner

costs need to be as cheap as possible monthly as I am having to furnish the place from scratch, don't really need a phoneline but looks like its my only option unless I go with virgin

Had a look online but bit baffled by all the websites I checked out as it looks cheap then price seems to jump up next thing.

Since broadband is exchange specific, start with an exchange search on samknows.com for your available LLU options.
Yes, you need a landline for any kind of ADSL or fibre broadband service, except VM cable.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • yeah done that mate, quite a few options

The following services are available in your location:

    BT Wholesale ADSL
    BT Wholesale ADSL Max
    BT Wholesale WBC (21CN)
    BT Wholesale SDSL
    AOL LLU
    O2 / Be LLU
    Bulldog LLU
    TalkTalk (CPW) LLU
    Sky Broadband / Easynet LLU
    Edge LLU
    Pipex LLU
    Tiscali LLU
    Tiscali TV (via Tiscali LLU)
    Entanet LLU
    Digital Region

Not really that many: Your LLU options are TT or Sky, or VM cable.

  • ok so I am best going with LLU ?

Talk talk says its not available on their site when I do the post code check but everywhere else says it is, even customer services

Also I only want a 12 month contract as might only be at the flat for a year or so

baffled by it all now tbh, nothing new there :rotfl:

Some providers may come and go from the list, as I found with Tesco.

I put in my details and was told I could have broadband or phone but not both. This was because their allocation at my exchange was full. However, two weeks later, both became available , but only for a few days, when the offer reverted to one only.

LLU services will usually be cheaper, so it's up to you. We've narrowed it down to just 2 LLU suppliers for you, so up to you to compare pricing with non-LLU options such as Plusnet or VM.

Sky contracts are 12 months, is there a communal satellite already installed?
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.

I would think so but have no real way of finding out for sure until I can find the caretaker who is always hiding

talk talk have !!!!ed me off too much now, yeah you can have our package, no you can't just broadband lite...yeah you can have the full package ...no you cant have it yes ...no yes ..no etc

best thing is their offer runs out today..Lousy to deal with no help at all
  • Talk talk are pretty damn useless aren't they?

for weeks through the plus tv promotion of £10 p/m for 6 months it said on their availability checker online that the service wasn't available, then the day after the promotion ends its a miracle, its available again
Tried phoning them earlier but they wouldn't budge or even offer me a free boost for a few months etc, seems they don't really need the custom..bah. :(

anyone had any joy with them?
