Historical - Present Chart of Gas/Electricity Prices?
Looking for a official/reputable historical to present Chart that show average Duel Fuel Prices for the average household/family.
I know energy was cheaper back in the day.
However back in the day energy efficient products did not exist like energy saving light bulbs and A rated Fridges etc.
Also back in the day there were less suppliers hence less competition.
The chart should give me a idea whether to go fixed or variable tariff.

No it won't, because past patterns are not necessarily going to be continued into the future. The wholesale buyers can't predict prices 12 months ahead. If they can't with their resources, how can you?
A fix is an insurance policy, not necessarily a cheaper rate.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Don't forget current 'average' quotes will understate current prices by £180 compared to older averages on account of being based on 4,000 fewer units of gas!0

the easiest and quickest way to find out what to go for is to just use comparison sites, it will show you the cheapest fix or variable rates0 -

That chart may be fun to look at but less fun to cry over and face-palm at but will not help that decision.
What data might help is recent information about dates tariffs were updated and when suppliers updated all their tariffs. A clear overview of which quotes cover recent bumps is about all that might help. Even then it won't really help choosing between fixed or variable.0 -
There must be a chart that exists. There charts for everything.0

Of course there is a chart that exists. I suggest you contact the midstream arm of an energy department, and contact their trading team.
What said chart won't do, unfortunately, is help choose between a fixed or variable tariff. If it does, a career (and a lucrative one at that) awaits in hedging energy!0
