  • Right, off to try and grab a nap before DH gets home and we need to head off to the antenatal class. Think I've managed quite a lot today really, the washing / ironing pile has gone down significantly, although there's still a lot more to go! It's hard because the house is in a state of transition at the moment so there are a lot of things being moved around (and hopefully out of the door :rotfl:) which should make things easier in the long term, but are a bit stressful and messy in the meantime.

Monday - Bathroom, shower room, toilet
    30 minutes to spare ...
Clean all plug holes and the plugs themselves
    Got an hour....
    Clear and wipe window sill

My very own list of horrors
    - Email to the council

    - Contact work

    - Arrange hair & nails appointment
    - Start working through Mount Washmore (at least one load of washing, ironing and sorting through per day) MON
    - Contact physio for next appointment
    - Arrange dental appointment for DH
    - Clean bathroom mirrors
    - Check out new frames for glasses
    - Arrange nurse appointment
    - Sort TC form
    - At least 10 things out of the door per day! MON (26 :j)
    - Revision for exams this week
    - Speak to Sky about ridiculous bill
    - Sort out wedding order of service
    - Find out what's going on with singing at the wedding
    PAD: £4843.10 (loan paid, yay!)
    One debt vs 100 days: £288.73 / £750
    £20 a day: March £838.97 / £620 April £224.53 / £600

    Total debt 04/2015: £13,997.51

Hi all; I'm in this week again as best I can, using my own lists.:o

Thanks all who expressed concern regarding my eye problem yesterday – it cleared itself within about half an hour.:T I do see an optician once a year, because I'm on Plaquenil, which can affect the eyes, and have mentioned it several times over the years, they put it down to tiredness and stress – something about the muscles being weak, and if I'm tired and/or upset, these don't work as well as they should, hence the double vision. It's a waste of time saying anything to my GP – all she'll do is say “oh, that's not so good, is it?” and that'll be that. Plus appointments with her are harder to get than hens' teeth, and she's the only doctor in the practise I can cope with seeing.:( I do get migraines, but I usually get a specific type of flashing lights (they're like little illuminated orange snakes) before the pain hits. Unfortunately, the stuff the GP gave me years ago (Migraleve) was useless, it didn't stay down long enough to do any good (sorry if tmi). I've been suffering badly with nightmares lately, and this is stressing me out big time, so that may well be a contributory factor.:(

Oh, and Tooch don't worry, we had our dins – HM quiche and chips – just after I posted, so I didn't go hungry for too long.;)

Just2Ashamed I hope you and DH are on better ground today. I can't be havin' with men throwing a paddywack! Have a (((HUG)))

    Jazee posivibes for SickDog.

Katiecat sorry to hear about OH's Aunty.

Welcome aboard to our new and returning Flyers.

I must haul my sorry a$$ into the kitchen now – I need to make a nut loaf and a carrot'n'orange cake (nut loaf is partly under way) and there'll be a veritable mountain of washing up once I've done that.

However, I have done loads of cleaning/tidying already; the pink recycling bag is full to bursting. Luckily the bin men are due tomorrow. I'm even going to put the black rubbish bag out this week; I don't bother every week, as it's not worth it, but this week there's enough dog hair in there to stuff a small mattress!:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Forgot to say earlier - thanks Dusty for this week's list and Natty's for last week's. Bossy, I hope everyone is OK.

Lovely photo of your smiling Pixie, Pigpen! I must have missed it earlier and had to scroll back to find out what other people were talking about :p

 and (((hugs))) to Helenjelly and OH.

Well done to mrs-mp for mending the bath panel

Katiecat, sorry to hear about your OH's aunty. Hold onto those happy memories!

Mumto5, well done to your family for making your DD's special day a happy one.

My mood is always worse when the house is a mess; I find it very hard to settle when there's stuff to be done
Me too. The fact that I have lived for 4½ months without unpacking most of our belongings, and without cracking up completely, is a miracle. But today we have acquired a fireplace in the lounge, complete with working fire :), we've decided on the shelves and units for the room, and we're off out to look for carpet this afternoon. While the fireplace man was here DH and I tidied the utility, emptied the metal tool cupboard and moved it into its final position in the back porch, and then I sorted everything and put it all back neatly. Now we have space to move in the utility too :D

Can't shine my bath as it is full of the staircase carpet pieces :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

has anyone got any ideas about where a 1/4 tsp measure might have hidden itself?

I think it's run away with my 1/2 cup measure!

Oh Fizz, meant to say.. We've had a dehumidifier for about 2 years now. It's cumbersome and takes up loads of space but is worth it's weight in gold.

Thankyou for all that, Kaz :) I was pleasantly surprised with how small mine is, it's just over 18" tall, I'd read the dimensions before buying but struggle to imagine sizes, IYKWIM -- In my last job (retail manager) I could never get my head around what 1kg of carrots looked like, never mind three 25kg boxes
DH is not keen on the idea of leaving it running too much, it's labelled as 180w and I could see him doing the sums in his head as to how much it'd cost. Maybe I should leave it on the low setting tonight as we're watching TV, that way he should see that it's not going full pelt 24/7.

Once the living room has dried out enough (I had been parking the airer in front of the French doors in there and when I drew the curtains on Friday morning, they were wet to the touch) I think I will move ours into the inner hall which leads into the bathroom and bedrooms; we too have a shower which is used several times a day and we have no extractor fan. I always shower with the window wide open but it still steams up terribly and has left us with a permanent damp whiff in there. Hopefully this will disappear along with the minging carpet.

Vinyl flooring ordered, 60% off plus an additional 25% reduction today :money:it should be delivered within a week and then we can get the installation booked. I got my grout and found the perfect picture frame for the card my BFF bought us for our wedding; it was so pretty I wanted it to stay on display.

Happy bunny today, not bad going seeing as I had the Monday blues this morning :j
