I would actually ask your Manager/HR department as where I work we base the AL of full months so say your entitlement for example is 30/12*number of full months service = pro rata AL entitlement

pro rata AL entitlement - days taken = Oustanding AL payment.

Everywhere is different though. Some companies recover your AL days if you've taken more than the pro rata amount, some don't.

ETA - Some companies also prefer you to take your AL before you leave the business if you can.

Yes I know 2 are at Xmas but I say the 8 are still pro rata.

Others say they are not so are using only 6 days in the calculation

been using this gov.uk website calculator (didn't know it existed) and it's giving the folloing;

That will tell them its 28 days for the year and the OP says they get 27 plus bank holidays

hehe, look at that for timing!!

says 23.4 days holiday earned and i've used 18.5 so i should have 4.9 days left.

As I have just said plus the pro rata bit of the 7 extra days you get on top of this
