Working out holiday entitlement

hey,
I'll be handing my notice in tomorrow and i'm trying to figure out how much untaken holiday i have left.
My notice period is 5 weeks.
I get 27 days holiday (this doesn't include bank holidays) a year (jan 1st - dec 31st)
i have taken 18.5 days.
i just wanted to double check my calculations are correct, you guys on here are far more intelligent that i! hehe
i did 27 (days holiday) \ 52 (weeks in a year) = 0.5192307692307692 (days holiday earned per week)
i've worked 39 full weeks so. 0.5192307692307692 * 39 = 20.25 days holiday earned.
According to my dodgy maths that makes it so i'm owed 1.75 days?
thanks

It's likely the company would up it but you can't force them to, if htey wanted to be pedantic they could do it exact.ofcourse it would! silly me!
so. 0.5192307692307692 * 45 = 23.36538461538461 days holiday earned.
Is it ok to round these up to say 23.5 days holiday?
If rounding up is ok then i would be owed 5 days.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
You aren't including BH?
Do you work them? Get them off and paid? If so how many? We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Yes assuming you work 5 days a week its 5.6 weeks holidays pre year to include BHI do not work them and do get paid them. Should i include them?
So your 27 days should have 8 BH to that
I make it 30 days holiday for the year up to the date you leave. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
30.28 days to include bank holidays so 30.28- (18.5+ Number of bank holidays this year so far) is what you have left to take. Though they can just pay these as extra at the end.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0

No this is the entitlement for the year and the OP has taken holiday so far this year.Takeaway_Addict wrote: »30.28 days to include bank holidays so 30.28- (18.5+ Number of bank holidays this year so far) is what you have left to take. It's not what they have left to take however. To think the OP only thought they had a bit over one day to comeTakeaway_Addict wrote: »They haven't included the bank holidays in the 18.5 days used so far as they view it as an extra. We’ve had to remove your signature.
