I it compatible with my existing Canon Pixma MP190 printer?

It the OS that matters, not the make of computer. Which is it?
Go to the Canon support site. If drivers are available for that printer for your particular operating system, then yes, it will work OK. If so download them and install.No free lunch, and no free laptop
