This is the follow up to my old diary "Living @ home and hating it"....

.... as I have now moved out!!!
Bought a one bedroom flat in an area I know really well that is really handy for work... close but not too close which is good when you are a High School teacher.
Flat bought for £60,000 (home report was £72,000 and it had started off at £68,000 on Rightmove). As far as monthly costs are concerned my mortgage will be £225 per month (I had saved a good deposit and had help from my family) and my council tax will be £102. Other than that I am not quite sure in terms of electricity and I have yet to shop around for a TV/Broadband package.
so my costs are as follow..
Monthly pay: £2005
mortgage: £225
council tax: £102 (10 months)
TV/broadband: ?
Electricity: ?
Home Insurance: ?
Mobile phone....
£36 per month
Other expenses....
EIS union @ £12.30 per month (I need this for the legal cover it provides)
Gym membership @ £28.50 per month (I use this everyday for gym/swim)

Thanks smithyboss, one of the benefits of living north of the border I guess. It is a "4 in a block" ex-council flat in a good area, ground floor, nice garden, one bedroom, recent roughcasting and insulation work has been done too. Pretty much walk in condition and within walking distance of work and 20 minutes on the train to Glasgow.Debt now £48,000 in the form of a mortgage

Just been reminding myself of the furniture from my previous rental flat that I have in storage and drawing up a list of what I need. The flat is wooden floors throughout and I think I would like a living room rug. I have a everything required for living room and kitchen but need a new bed as my ex admitted that he had cheated in our bed so that ended up being given away.Debt now £48,000 in the form of a mortgage
