Hello everyone!
I haven't been around much the last couple of weeks due to winning the Smartest Shopper competition!
It's all gone a bit crazy but I've still got my feet on the ground.
In the last week I have been featured in local newspapers and on local radio.
I've written guest posts for a number of different sites including Netmums & MyFamilyClub
And today I am in The Sun on page 40 talking about my top money-saving tips.
Here are some links to the articles etc.

My life is changing daily and the doors that are opening are amazing. I am even more determined to become debt free within 3 years and hopefully with everything that is happening I can achieve this.
Do you remember when I spoke about being determined and positive and how if you want something bad enough you can get it? Well that is what is happening in my life.
I was fed up being skint and in debt. I wanted better for my family and I was prepared to fight for it which I have and continue to do.
What I didn't know was how things were going to change.
I am so excited for the future and have my family to thank for sticking by me when times have been tough.
Thank you to everyone on this forum and at MSE for your support. We will all get there in the end, whatever situation we are in.Professional Blogger | Money Saver | Money Maker0 -
I forgot to say earlier. I wrote a post a few days ago about financial education at home.
My parents never spoke to me about these things I think this was a part reason why I have been so bad with money.
Please have a read and let me know what you think?

Very interesting article.
I was taught nothing about the value of money, at 18 I was given £250,000 - honestly at the time I didn't really know it was a life changing sum of money. To think of all the things I could have done with it instead of what I did do with it makes me feel rather ill. However, at that age I just presumed money would always be there, that it was only "the poor" that struggled.
Luckily my son is only three and will hopefully never realise Mrs. K. and I were ever in debt and had money problems.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -

Great post.
We've been doing the same with our six year old for a while and she seems to have really grasped the value of money.

Wow! I've just been reading back through this debt diary that I started many many months ago. So much has happened since my last post and although I do write on my blog, I'm tempted to carry on where I left off on here.
As a quick update: We are currently smashing our debt and have 1st January 2017 still set as our DFD.
Over the last 20 months since my last entry (I really have been busy) I got married to Skint mum, moved house, changed jobs, had some really high points, some pretty low points, won some blogging awards, been inspired and turned 37. I also got to meet Eamonn and Ruth but that's another story...
The main thing is though I am still heading towards that dream of being debt free. I knew it wasn't going to be easy but I've stayed focused and bit by bit we're getting there.
I am in such a different place to where I was back in September 2013. The light bulb moment I had back then has still stayed with me up to today and with the support of my loving family and some fantastic friends I'm managed to completely change my life. It wasn't fate or luck, it was hard work and fighting for something with everything I have.
Good luck with whatever debt journey you're on and expect to see me around here a bit more.

Hey rockm87 how are you?
I was once on these boards regularly and had a debt diary (this one) which I updated quite a bit. It was only when the blogging really took off and I had hardly any time did I not come back on here much.
It was only today that someone emailed me to say they had found my debt diary on MSE that I popped back on to have a catch up. It has been really refreshing to read back through my older forum posts.Professional Blogger | Money Saver | Money Maker0 -
