How did you think your Smartest Shopper competition went?
We did an Indian fakeaway the other week too, wish I could remember what we had but it was delicious, much better than buying from the shops.
Your other blog post really put my "problems" into perspective, some people on here and in real life have told me I'm "not in the real world" and some kind of dumb, privileged posh boy who wallows in self pity far too often. Having read your blog post, I'm beginning to wonder if they are right.
Anyhow, onto something more positive, glad you're still 150% determined, I for one need your inspiration!
I think it went well. Just before I went in I popped into the toilet and gave myself a good talking to, to fire me up a bit.
I used to suffer with nerves but I have a process I go through which gives me the fire in my belly to face things head on 99.99% of the time.
We only had 20 mins and I ended up staying in there for about 30 which I feel was positive. The way I see it, win or lose I have achieved something great by getting into the final 10.
I won't be downbeat if it is bad news as there is so much more in the pipeline which is just as exciting!
In regards to my other blog post, I know you say after reading put your own "problems" into perspective but listen to what I have to say.
There are a huge amount of people in this world Alex, people who are dying, starving and in great, great turmoil. This situation they are in make mine, yours and the majority of people on this forum problems seem insignificant.
Now, as much as I feel for these people, I am not living their lives and I cannot comprehend what they are going through. So you know what I do? I concentrate on what's important to me, my problems which, in my world are the most important problems.
And this is what you should do.
If something, anything in your life feels like a problem then it probably is and you should do something about it. Don't worry about putting things into perspective, just worry about the things that are important to you and how you are going to improve that.

Sounds good to me, I'm no stranger to performance and public speaking (being a musician) - suppose we've all got to be good at something, eh? Still, I'd be useless at Smart Shopping. :rotfl: Let us know either way how it went.
And, thank you for the advice.2018 totals:

Not been updating this as much as I would of liked the last couple of weeks but I have a feeling this will change.
Since I last posted on the 12th quite a lot has happened again as it normally does in my life.
We have taken the decision to quit one of the cleaning jobs. I was bringing us in an extra £120 every two weeks by the sacrifices of the family were too much.
It was getting to a stage that the children weren't seeing mummy at all in the week which in itself was bad enough but on top of this Skint Mum was starting to burnout and that is the last thing we want.
So that still leaves us with income from skint mums full time job and two smaller cleaning jobs. Additionally I am getting more and more opportunities to write for other sites and brands which has instantly brought in more income and I can only see this going from strength to strength.
We are still cutting back and looking at ways of saving money.
My youngest daughter has had a bit of a cold so we made the decision to start putting the heating on for an hour in the mornings. I am not sure how this will affect our bills but my children's health is more important that debt.
Yesterday we had our 6th fakeaway. We did something a little different and had it for lunch instead of dinner. I haven't added the recipe to my blog yet but I can tell you we had Beef and Bean Burritos, Spicy Mexican Rice, Salsa & home made wraps - it was absolutely delicious and again cost under a fiver for all the ingredients.
The recipe will be on my blog later today.
In regards to my blog, there has been a few posts written but more importantly Skint Mum wrote a guest post yesterday entitled "Our Life From Skint Mums Perspective" by all mean click on the link and have a read.
She is my soul mate and without her I wouldn't have the strength to achieve half of what I have done up to this point.Professional Blogger | Money Saver | Money Maker0 -
