Fantastic news, so pleased that she said yes.
I am sure that you will get lots of ideas for a frugal wedding. I have never been one for too much fuss so OH and I married in Register Office, it was really nice with wonderful flower arrangements, about 20 of our closest family and friends came and we had a very tasty home made buffet back at our flat.
It was great fun. Not for everyone I know, but it suited us.
Thank you
We are definitely going to plan frugally. Skint Mum and I have already created a folder on our PC desktop entitled "Skint wedding" I am sure that just by being savvy and giving things the Skint treatment we can save a fortune! Hopefully anyway.Professional Blogger | Money Saver | Money Maker0 -

I bet when it comes to is, Skint Mum won't part with her 'cheap' ring because it will mean more than the biggest diamond in the world.....(so in fact, your plan may have failed as you may have to buy her another ring, instead of upgrading this one!!!.........:-)
Thank you
You are right. SM loves the ring and definitely won't want to part with it.
When I hopefully become "Skinted to Minted" I can still get her a nice sparkly surprise.Professional Blogger | Money Saver | Money Maker0 -

Congratulations to both of you!
Thank you
I wouldn't worry too much about your LBM. Just do small positive things towards your goals and the LBM will come naturally because just my thinking positive and you are half way there. Small steps.Professional Blogger | Money Saver | Money Maker0 -
Congratulations, you old romantic.
Mrs. K. says I ought to feel guilty as I never proposed "properly" to her.Oh, and her ring was in it's forth pair of hands, at least. We were at an antiques fair and she mentioned how much she loved this certain ring, so I bought it for her, upon leaving as we were walking back to the car I said "I think you know what this means".
She asked "are you going to get down on one knee, then?" and I said "no I don't need to". She took the ring saying "I suppose you don't". Hmmm, looking back I feel a bit embarrassed I never actually made an effort.
Yes, I was rather an arrogant young man back then.
Thanks Alex
I was going to ask SM in the restaurant but it just didnt feel right. When we stepped outside into the rain I knew that was the perfect moment for the perfect memory.Professional Blogger | Money Saver | Money Maker0 -

Loving your blog by the way and your Chinese chicken was a huge hit in our house and we will certainly be making it again.
can't wait to start reading about your money saving wedding plans.
Thank you PWPS,
Glad you love the blog. It is going from strength to strength! I really intended for it to be nothing more than a place for my thoughts, I never expected the attention it is getting now!
Hopefully it well lead onto something that I can use to achieve my dreams of living a life without debt and worry and something to make my children proud of me.
Chinese chicken was nice wasn't it! I have to say, the Kebabs we cooked Saturday just gone were my favourite yet. I like a good kebab but want to create something a little different.
Using 3 different marinades certainly did the trick! The infusion of flavours which included Chilli lime and tandoori were amazing and at under a fiver I will probably be having this at least once a week, well thats if I have time to make then with all the wedding planning going on....Professional Blogger | Money Saver | Money Maker0 -

how lovely! And my DH's proposal wasn't the best either! We were totally stressed out after a shopping trip in Lewisham (of all the miserable places to be...) and he said 'do want a ring then or what?' :rotfl:We went and chose a ring in the sale and put it on the credit card :rotfl::rotfl: rest assured this was before our LBM ...we didn't do anything quite as crazy after (ah well actually yes I did but that's another story!) so I reckon your proposal tops mine so in my books it was super romantic
Loving your diary and positivity, keep it up, it's what will see you through the down days of the bumpy DF journey
Thank you!
Skint mum works so hard and to see her face light up in the rain well stay with me forever. I wish I could relive that moment time and time again although I suppose I can in my heart.
Glad you like the diary. It really is good to share.Professional Blogger | Money Saver | Money Maker0 -

Good evening,
Just a quick update this evening.
Today has been a very productive day. I've managed to secure a bit of paid writing on my blog! It consists of sponsored posts and reviews. This will hopefully lead into more of the same.
I have been so busy since last Friday that I haven't had time to update my SOA to show the payments that have come out on the 1st - this is definitely a job for tomorrow!
I have been trying to prepare for Saturday and the final of the "UK's smartest shopper" but if I am honest, every time I think about it I am getting rather nervous. If you have followed my journey so far you will know that I am positive and believe that if you want something bad enough you can get it with pure determination and a bit of fight. Well this competition makes me feel like I shouldn't be like that.
I suppose its because if I did win it would be a life changer and deep down I think I have a chance and keep thinking what if. Then I slap myself on the hand and tell myself not to build my hopes up.
£10,000 would change our lives in a instant, not just from a debt point of view but what comes with winner the competition as well.
Just writing this now I start to dream what if and I know I shouldn't...should I?
Anyway enough of that!
I also wrote a post on my blog today about the most wanted toys this Christmas and where to find the best price. If you are interested then you can find it hereProfessional Blogger | Money Saver | Money Maker0 -
Well done on the paid writing, one of my ambitions is to be paid to write, though I doubt very much that will ever happen.
A few nerves can be good in a presentation / speech scenario - I presume this is what it is? I've no idea your professional background so sorry if I am teaching grandma to suck eggs.Nothing wrong with dreaming what if so long as you are not disappointed come results time and you are not the "winner".
