Just off out to the vet again to pick up antibiotics. None of the blood tests showed up anything too out of the ordinary (thank goodness) so for now she's being treated for a bug. If the antibiotics don't work, then she'll have that scan. In good news she's not trembling so much today.Spend less now, work less later.0

Hi,
Sorry to hear about your wee one being ill. Hope she picks up soon x
Just suggesting that you double check with the vets that it couldn't be Addisons disease?
My dog was in and out of the vets 3 times over the period of a month before it was picked up. It is not easy to diagnose and is often missed or thought to be something else.
He lost his appetite, became very shaky etc.
They thought it was kidney issues, since he got to the point he was only okay when on a drip, at the vets. He would then be fine for a day or so and then the cycle would repeat.
Turned out it was Addisons and now he is totally fine and back to himself, with a few tablets a day.
I am sure it is not that, but worth checking and seeing if they need to run any extra tests for it.
Good luck with it all!0 -
Thanks for the advice, but I don't think it will be Addisons as she has the exact opposite disease (Cushings - overproduction of cortisol). All good fun this trying to diagnose our animals!
An update: appetite still hit and miss (although she could just be holding out now for fresh fish....), less trembling too and she was very enthusiastic on her walk this morning. So hopefully, it is just a bug and the ABs are doing their job now.Spend less now, work less later.0
