What might these symptoms mean?

Hello, I have a very ill dog who's really only kept going by regular medication. I am taking her to the vet tomorrow as she's started trembling, has a loss of appetite but increased thirst and I'm wondering if there are any experts out there who can prepare us for what the diagnosis may be. She is still enthusiastic about going for a short walk, very slowly.

As we could only take guesses, I would wait for the vet's diagnosis.0

I wouldn't want to diagnose - but would ask what quality of life your dog is having.0

I don't want to worry you but when our dog Kado had those symptoms he had kidney failure. I had to have him put to sleep. It was the hardest decision I've ever made but I wish I had made it sooner so he didn't suffer. See what your vet recommends. Thinking of you.0

Thanks for your replies. I will let you know how we get on later. Re her quality of life. It has been good till now. With regular blood tests etc and medication she has been able to carry on as normal. Any slowing down has been down to her advanced years. I won't let her suffer, she has already well exceeded the life expectancy the vet gave her and I cherish every moment with my little shadow.Spend less now, work less later.0

Good luck at the vets today.
I do know that increased thirst can indicate kidney failure in cats but wouldn't know about any of the other symptoms.
Hope it's good news.

An update. The vet isn't sure what is wrong with her, just that it's not connected with anything she already suffers from. Bloods have been taken and we will get the results tomorrow. They seem to be testing for just about everything, but if the tests come back negative then she'll need a scan.
In the meantime shes on some more medicine.
At the moment she is snoozing on the settee with DH having just eaten a piece of ham, the only thing to tempt her today.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Hoping the results are good for your little shadow tomorrow xSpelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...

awww poor dog! I hope vet can pinpoint the cause and treat her. You don't say how old she is or her breed - or did I miss that?0

I hope the tests come back with good news.0
