Exterior door that opens out

longforgotten
I need to replace the door to the shed, a leanto to the side of the house. It has a typical shed door with wood surround.
I would like to replace it with a metal door that opens out. There is a great door sold by wickes http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/207654
but it opens in and the room in the shed is limited as it is.
Anyone spotted what I'm after please

If it opens in at the moment you're going to have to get a new frame if you want to change it to outward opening.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Why "metal"?, those alluminium doors are no more secure than PVC if that's the concern.
Outward opening external doors of any type are a rarity as you are finding. The only 1 I have ever had had to be made to measure I'm afraid.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Metal would be cheaper than a upvc door, and no maintenance. It's a shed and does not warrant that outlay of upvc.
The existing shed door is wooden and opens out. It looks like I will just have to arrange a like for like replacement and slap on the paint
It was worth asking though.
The wickes door at £199 but opening out would have been great. We already have this door on the porch and we're very pleased with it.0 -
In the link you gave you showed a RH door that opens inwards. Couldn't you buy a LH door, and turn it round so it opens outwards?0

Like Sailor Sam said. Just get a new frame so instead of fitting it in the house opening into the shed, you're fitting it in the shed and opening into the house.0

There is no cill shown on the Wickes door, so what is to stop it being fitted so that it opens outward. It says that it is prehung which means it comes complete with frame. Mind you, I cannot see that having a large glass panel in a shed door would do much for security.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
You could fit one of these, if the existing door frame is different then with timber studwork in a shed its relatively simple to alter the studwork.Lots of places sell Jeld-wen doors so do a search online.

if it comes complete with frame, can't you just turn it round?0 -

No-one seems to like that suggestion !0 -
Which way a door opens is surely just a function of which side you are standing when you open it?0
