Turning Boiler Flu to go through another wall

In addition to THAT, the manufacturers recommendations, in all cases, override regulation AND legislation, but they do usually concur

Ahhh yes the old manufacturers instructions over-ride....southcoastrgi wrote: »fanned flue not a balanced flue
So page 8 Just above table 4, for the case of this boiler it is a Balanced Flue
Even though we are well aware it is a fanned flue0 -

I am assuming as you haven't got any openings going in the conservatory near where the flue is at the moment?
I missed two words out... Inserted now
But im sure you got the point....
I often forget the site is full of spelling and gramma experts
And maybe a few smart

More often than not the latter
not in my book it just says terminal
two words can & do make all the difference
yes that i agree withI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
There is NO option for doubting, or commonsense, because there are regulations that define flue positioning that are legally binding
In addition to THAT, the manufacturers recommendations, in all cases, override regulation AND legislation, but they do usually concur
Now then CB, can you specifically define common sense for me please
Ok, to make it clear, I actually said I didn't doubt the info, and if I had, which I hadn't, I would have been doubting RP's interpretation or reading of the info rather than the info itself.
Hope that makes it clear.
Secondly, manufacturers recommendations that overide?, that kind of flies in the face of legislation doesn't it, not a pop but that does not collate properly.
Thirdly, the "recomendations" are a minimum dimension, common sense that you ask me to define, is to give a greater clearance if at all possible.
Now, you maybe know the type of boiler the OP has, I don't, but any gas fumes 25mm from a conservatory will both discolour it and under the right condition cause actual damage, I too thought fumes from a condensing boiler were hotter when not in condensing mode.
Someone said that flue pipes for condensing boilers are made of plastic, again not doubting that. But, that plastic is designed to have a high heat resistance, plastic conservatories do not.
Strange you have an issue with me wanting to stay way within the regs/recs?, it's usually the other way round. Oh,
:p;) I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
rockin_plumber wrote: »I take it that means it needs to be moved then??
Without actually seeing the job, or you replying if there are GOING TO BE any windows near the flue, I cant be 100% sure,
But from the info you have given and the boiler manual it seems ok, but who knows...
So best to get a Plumber to check GAS SAFE REGISTERED obviously
Thanks for all your help and advice. It's unclear whether it NEEDS to be moved, and I'm unsure what the distance of the nearest opening is going to be, but we've been quoted £120 for it to be moved so it's not too bad. Subsequently, moving it means we can have the conservatory made an extra 500mm wide as well so it's a good thing really.
We got the plumbers details off the Gas Safe website so all good

For £120 it's worth it being moved then, and you get a bigger conservatory :T0
