How does she receive her pension then?0

I have a frail old 92 year old grand mother and she doesn't have a bank account, although she does have a fair amount to say about them. Gets picked up every Tuesday to be taken to the post office where she picks up her pension and settles any bills due (all in cash). Still uses the local butchers, market, corner shop, etc. Completely refuses to step inside a super market.0

Thanx for all the replies.
The problem is there does not seem to be any paperwork/account books etc anywhere. unfortunately, she was being visited by one of her nieces quite regularly who took it upon herself to deal with her finances. She had access to her account etc. She is no longer on the scene as my aunt has realised she was deceiving her.
The problem is, it seems she has removed all paperwork to possibly cover up what she was doing. Unfortunately, we are unable to prove anything without access to the account.
I would be very grateful for any further advice.0 -

My mother is looking in to this.Archi_Bald wrote: »What have you/your mother done about getting a POA?0 -
Your aunt is compos mentis? If so, your mother needs to arrange for her aunt to grant power of attorney.
Assuming that your aunt knows what bank accounts etc she has, then as attorney, your mother can contact the financial institutions for information. https://www.gov.uk/power-of-attorney/make-a-lasting-power-of-attorney
She can also then contact the DWP.0
