    I love my BMW 1

Bought from a BMW dealership, second hand and it came with 60,000 miles free servicing

It's a lovely car to drive. Lots of people say they are hell in the snow and ice but I've never had a problem

I've never understood people complaining about BMWs in bad weather, they quite happily drop £20k upwards on a car and then wont splash out £500 or so on some winter tyres.
  • i like the pro ceed its not bad car in petrol form not audi or bmw in terms of quality but it handles well and more stylish over the hyundai.

between the audi and BMW im not a fan of the A1 so out of those two would be the bmw 1 series, although, i know someone who had a 1 series for a curtesy car whilst their 3 series was being repaired and they said it wasnt as expected likened it to sporty version of a modern focus and couldnt wait to hand it back.

Support UK industry, get a Toyota Auris, boring but reliable and practical, we have had one for 3 years and it is fine, very economical and comfortable.
Thinking of changing now as we want to tow something that is over the towing limit, otherwise we would now get another Auris

It's too early to debate about winter tyres and their merits, tyres are pricey enough as it is, even if your car is wearing winter tyres, you may still be stuck behind the vehicle in front that has opted to use the all weather/summer tyres.

No it's not too early. :p

The clocks change in exactly 3 weeks time and that's when my winter tyres go on.

Speaking as someone whom if cut in half would probably have a VW logo running through me.

Auris, i30 or Ce'ed. I've got in all three of these cars wanting not to like it, and found them to be a nice drive, and good on fuel.

The Astra's a good, solid candidate, but the diesels are trouble.
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?

Price doesn't come in to it when you look at the safety benefits.
Even if you do bring money in to the equation, there's no loss as you're not wearing your summer tyres down when the winter ones are on.

Best time to get them at the moment before the prices go through the roof.

I think you and the other poster miss my point, don't wanna side track the original request in this thread, however with all the arguments for their usage, I still will not be purchasing any.
