Buying a car on Internet

We Used drivethedeal a few years ago. Great service as they are an introducer. Once a deposit is paid the supplying dealer will contact you with delivery date etc.
Only downside is the dealer may not be local.0 -
My dad used drivethedeal and is using it again to buy another now.
One problem you might encounter is that if there is an out of warranty fault on the car you have to tell "drive the deal" first and your SOGA contract will be with drivethedeal. You cannot use SOGA against your local dealer who has serviced your car for you.0 -
Again used DtD, simple no sales man spinning out his nonsense.0

I would use the "internet price" as a lever and try to negotiate a deal with a local dealers - I did this last month and managed to get a price match on a car for my wife - saving almost £4000 on list price !!
Try it - you have nothing to lose...0 -
You sure about that. I would have thought any contract is between yourself and the dealership (the seller). My dad used drivethedeal and is using it again to buy another now.

I used Drive The Deal in 2001. Pay £250 as an introduction fee and the rest is between you and the dealer.
I had no issues with servicing or warranties at a local dealer and never had any dealings with the supplier after the initial delivery.0 -
Thank u all for advice, but the Company we are looking to deal with is neither a broker, nor an introducer. We deal with the Company direct called UK Car Discount. We pay £1000 on credit card as deposit then the balance when we actually receive the car. Company established since 2003. Any advice very welcome. Thank you.0

One more question please. If u r introduced to a dealer is it normal to pay the dealer before we receive the vehicle. Apparently we would pay the dealer once the car is in stock at the dealership, THEN they deliver car. Does this sound ok.0

If the dealer is a genuine reputable dealer - then yes, I would expect to have to leave a deposit .. (perhaps 10%) - no more !!
If the dealer is dodgy - run away fast.....0
