The imagination of some people really is something to behold. What post will appear berating Asda next? Perhaps the OP could create another user name and post that the Asda delivery driver turned up with their shopping at their house but slapped them in the face when the OP opened the door. I've got one, the OP should post that the Asda store manager went on the PA system to sing some gangster rap including "N" words and "F" words scattered all over the place.0

I call disgruntled/recently sacked employee on this one.
I'm not sure about this thread either. 3 separate people state they have shopped at the Bristol one for a minor thing like a price being wrong but no one else can seem to back up and entire Supermarket not having any sort of carrier bags that would annoy many people who would probably take to the Internet to complain.0 -

Probably because putting your own bags on the scales causes all the demons of Satan to inhabit the self scan machine. Way easier not to put an unexpected item in the bagging area.Money-Saving-King wrote: »I'm not sure about this thread either. 3 separate people state they have shopped at the Bristol one for a minor thing like a price being wrong but no one else can seem to back up and entire Supermarket not having any sort of carrier bags that would annoy many people who would probably take to the Internet to complain.
My local Asda has had no disposable carrier bags on at least two occasions in the past. They were giving out the thicker reusable bags and the canvas bags instead, but it wouldn't take long to run out of these. And sarahg1969 says she's had a similar experience too.0 -

Erm - no. You press the button for "own bags" and put them in the bagging area BEFORE you start scanning your items.0 -

Whilst it is completely unheard of for a supermarket to run out of bags, oh what shame they must be feeling.
Surely it does not deserve them being berated such, its not as if they go out of their way to run out of bags - they only do so because some people don't give a t0$$ about the environment and cant be bothered to take their own bags to the supermarket.
Possibly because when empty they take up so much room in the boot of the car or because they are so heavy that they cannot be carried.
And then the poor low paid & overworked staff have to sit there all day explaining with a smile that they have run out of bags, I guess that when the OP turned up they too had had enough of it.
For the past year at least - when I go to the supermarket I consult my crystal ball to check if I need to take bags with me, on seeing that the batteries are flat I take them anyway. Perhaps its time the OP started carrying their own bags for their shopping.0 -

OP - How dare you come onto a praise, VENTS & warnings thread and vent about a supermarket mistake that not only wasted your valuable time, but also majorly inconvenienced you due to the ineptitude of others.
:cool:A smile costs nothing, but gives a lot.It enriches those who receive it without making poorer those who give it.A smile takes only a moment, but the memory of it can last forever.0
