Dishwasher problem

My dishwasher isn't draining and has water in the bottom of it, any ideas what the problem could be?

Failed pump or blocked filter are possibilities.

Have you tried removing and cleaning the filter in the bottom of the dishwasher?

If that doesn't help, then the next step is to check the pump.

I'll leave that to someone else to advise on.

Is the filter the thing you pull out at the bottom?

Water in base has risen to the level where the float switch has operated and shut the machine down. Its an antiflood device to stop the water building up down there and eventually spilling over all over the floor.

Bail it out and it will work again.

    Cheers

Oh right I will try that and see if it works. Thanks!

When you say in the base do you mean the bottom of the washing chamber or do you mean in the tray right underneath the whole machine. Both will have float switches for antiflood purposes.

    Cheers

Sorry - got dragged away. Dont immediately recognise the machine but the arm should lift off, the strainer basket lift out and the square plastic cover come off to reveal a sump. Bail the water out of there.

Thats the short term solution to get you going again. Medium term I'm suspecting the waste pipe is gummed up.

    Cheers

The filter is under the rotary arms.

Remove the arms and the filter assembly and clean them regularly, even if Keystone is correct about the float switch. They probably just pull upwards. The round part of the filter may unscrew.

The knob etc on the left is the salt chamber.

I had this problem with mine a couple of months ago. I looked on the internet for a solution and was told to pull the dishwasher out and tip it sidewards. I did this and it did the trick :D I am not very technical but it was something about the float being stuck. :o

Good luck anyway hope you get it sorted.
