Thanks for the responses everyone. After talking with DH about it this morning we're going to just go with the flow. Obviously I'm going to be on here to stop me going crazy though lol.

This is probably a good way to do it if you have regular cycles and a willing OH. OPKs are useful if you've been trying a little longer or can't predict ovulation due to irregular cycles, just to make sure you're getting the sperm there at the right time.

Over Christmas, take it easy, drink lots of booze, eat all the bad stuff you wouldn't be able to eat if you were pregnant, and have lots of BD times and hopefully Santa will bring you a BFP!! :beer:

Edited to add: This isn't a "just relax and it'll happen post" but you may as well try to have fun where you can.

Thanks Code- my cycles aren't regular (well Ive only had one proper one since coming off the pill and that was after a 100 day cycle- but thats one of the reason I don't want to use opks yet- because I could waste a lot on cycle that long!!

And I know that it may take us a long time- which is part of the reason I don't want to go straight in doing opks etc- as I would like to not put myself or hubby under too pressure too start with.

So I have just had a laproscopy and dye test which came back all clear and had booked an appointment in the fertility clinic to get on the waiting list for IVF. Got a letter today saying due to unforeseen circumstances our appointment has been changed and now 7 weeks later in april! So i have to wait four months to see a consultant to get on a waiting list! If i had problems then fair enough but nothing is wrong and i can accept that they are waiting to see if i can conceive naturally before which is fair but another six weeks on to a 14 week waiting time is really bad! maybe its fate saying that i may conceive !! who knows but getting very frustrated with my nhs trust

Oh emmaj30, that sounds very frustrating fingers crossed you will end up not needing the appointment at all!

ETA - removing my musings about my ovulation date. I now have ewcm 2 days after I thought I had ovulated so got no idea what is going on!

What day do people start doing opk's from? If you have no idea how long your cycle is going to be or when or if you will ovulate. i have some IC so could do them from now & confirm with clear blue.
