I will just keep going and see what happens this month. Then next month use opks again and see if this is always the case, if it is then I guess I may struggle

Thanks for all the good wishes ladies. I won't hang around but I did want to share what we did differently this month in case it is helpful, and some stuff I learned.

1 - I ovulate much later than I thought and had been giving up on the OPKs too early. I found out you don't ov till after your EWCM goes so make sure you keep going with the sticks. This helped us as we had been having sex too early then getting worn out! We saved it instead and did it later in my cycle which was better timing.

2 - I didn't temp. I just checked EWCM and tried the OPKs. I reckon just checking EWCM would do it now I know the info above. I did write fown for all my cycles the cycle length, how many days of EWCM, when I ov and my luteal phase. Over a few cycles I realised my cycle was very different to what I thought and that really helped.

3 - we only had sex twice but we did it just before ov and then the day of the surge I think. Oh also made sure he released some sperm before that, earlier in my cycle, so the sperm was fresh.

4 - oh takes Wellman and I take folic acid. I recently started taking vitamin D to help with my SAD. This probably had no bearing but it is something I did differently. Maybe my improved mood made a difference?

5 - we are Christians and I recently started getting OH to pray over me for a baby, every day. I felt promoted to do this by ghe story in the Bible of the man who prays over his barren and elderly wife who then has a baby. If you have a faith then this might be an option for you too!

6 - I gave up inside. That sounds negative but I started thinking about what it would be like to have one child and tried to deal with my feelings about it. So once I ov I just didnt symptom spot. I didn't count days. I just noted 15dpo in my diary and tested on that day. I don't think it had any bearing on the outcome but I felt more sane!

7 - I did have symptoms but I ignored them. I was very tired, started feeling sick at night some nights, and felt incredibly cold sometimes. I also thought my boobs felt different, fuller and harder. I also did not get PMT, no mood swings, no skin breakouts, and that did make me wonder but I ignored it and assumed it wasn't going to happen.

8 - oh yeah, and I spent a fortune on sticks for the Persona that I don't need now and can't return!!!

I don't know if any of this is useful. My top tips are to learn your cycle and note it down, have sex just before ov at least twice, release sperm in between cd1 and ov, take vitamins (both of you) and try to stay sane

Congratulations Skintchick,

I actually noticed EWCM yesterday so we started the bd'ing. Today is CD9 so I'm starting to use the OPK. The best thing about this cycle is I only have 2 more shifts at work then I'm on holiday
