I was just having a look at the Home Bargains thread and someone said on there they'd found a 24v oven for truckers for £5.99 in their local store. Intrigued, I did some digging. Did anyone on here know you could get cooking appliances for your car? How brilliant is that? Something else that may be useful for you bubbs? The going rate for an oven here seems to be about £20, so a good buy if anyone sees one.

I'm guessing the 24v ovens might be too highly powered for a car but the 12 volt appliances would be ok?

    Some examples here.

Home Bargains is a hidden gem, they very often have loads of intersting things in the stores and usually at very good prices.

Morning bubbs. :) I use my halogen oven at least once a day and I absolutely love it. It's so quick and easy to use and clean, I don't often use my big oven since I got it. I do batches of baked potatoes and put them in the fridge for lunches and snacks, they're fine to keep and reheat for a couple of days. You can do virtually everything in it you can do in a normal oven, just have to put foil over some things for part of the time as all the heats directed down from above. I did a lovely gammon joint in Coke recently in mine and it was really tender. x
    Hope is not a strategy.
