This forum won't let me post the link as I'm a new user but if you look it up it's called the Pelly watch.
I still love it...sigh
And you will no doubt have seen those magic words 2 year guarantee in the Pelly watch description.
Ah... I see you have found it.0 -

Yes thanks! I don't remember if there was a two year guarantee when I bought it so hoping this one isn't new or anything..or only for online purchases, which wouldn't be fair right..
Oh well, will post an update when I get back from them tomorrow!0 -

The reason I bought it was for fashion really, the name was an added cachet of course. I do like the look of their chunky bezel ladies watches, and mine doesn't have the name emblazoned all over it which I prefer, but I never really thought about the manufacturing process! I kind of assumed it should at least be of good quality for the price.
Even if I do get this watch fixed up or replaced, I think I'll keep it aside for special occasions and get myself a cheaper and much more reliable "normal" watch for every day! So you recommend a citizen do you...?
I just liked the look and style of their range. I think i bought off the weatchhut shop on t'internet.,fab service..i think i bought it becuase it had the right mix of style, value and quality..Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
Hi everyone, just thought I'd update this thread on what's happened with this sodding watch so far.
I put it into repair about two weeks ago and was told that there might be a charge for any external repairs as the guarantee apparently only covers the internal workings, not the case, but was told that "it wouldn't cost that much".
Today I received an "estimate" from Fossil about the repair and it states that it will cost me £61.09!!! (£13.33 for "workload" and £34.17 for case, plus P&P and VAT).
I think this is outrageously high - what do you guys think?
The note also says the following which makes me wonder if my statutory rights are affected here:
"Case back is faulty, not deliverable on its own and not covered by guarantee".
Does this mean that the watch was inherently faulty, in which case I have some rights here? As in, the item was faulty by manufacture or something?
Not sure if I have a case to argue with or should I just pay up, get the watch back and learn a lesson? (Ie avoid Marc Jacobs in the future for one thing).
What do you think?0
