Ask the landlord or whoever's moving in next if they want it.

Saves you getting rid of it, and saves them buying a new one.
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?

Our council do one free pick up a year (for 3 items) so worth checking whether yours do the same

    "Do scrap metal merchants collect???":rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

They collect anything that isn't bolted down, and if it is, they "collect" the bolts too.

We must get at least 2 pick ups past the house everyday.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

When I was doing my son's bathroom a few years ago a couple of chaps in a van were waiting outside while I was bringing stuff out. They even took the old taps off from the plastic bath. With my permission of course. I cannot imagine that anything left outside would be there for long.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Yep just leave it out the front, it will be gone quickly enough.
I even got a scrap man to pay me for a load last year!

Anyone that even remotely considers buying a second hand gas appliance wants his bumps feeling. I don't know any RGI that would install one either - you'd be asking him to take full responsibility for something he has no idea how its been treated.

Sorry if that ruffles any feathers.

    Cheers

People do it every day when they move in to a new house with gas boiler or fire left by the previous owners. It just needs checking out before using.

I also think it's reasonable to buy a second hand gas cooker. Many people move house with old cookers and have them installed at the new house. My cooker has been reinstalled many times over the years, and nobody has ever seemed concerned by the request. Well, I once had to remove a cupboard as it was too close to the grill, but after that it was no problem.

Phone the St Vincent de Paul Society. They'll take it away, ensure it is safe to use, and then give it to someone who really needs it. You could make someone less fortunate very happy.
