Cancelled Flight Compensation Success

Following on from a previous post I have put on here, I have now successfully completed my claim for compensation from Air France. My story below:
When I travelled to South Africa with my daughter on the 2nd August our initial flight from Paris was cancelled. We spent the next three hours trying to get to our hotel and we were up again three hours later to head back to the airport for the next leg. I initially emailed them to request compensation and they offered a £70 flight voucher each. I declined their offer and politely requested the 600Euro compensation as per the courts decision. They replied to this on the 21st August and agreed to the compensation, so I supplied bank details for the transfer.
The next saga is probably the worst, but waiting for the compensation. I called after two weeks to be told it would take 3-4 weeks maximum. After 4 weeks I called again to be told that there had been a mistake and it would be another two weeks. At this point I used twitter to contact Air France and also wrote a letter before action to notify that if it was not received within two weeks then I would instigate court action.
I'm not sure which was more successful, but I received my compensation yesterday, two days before the final due date.
Persevere is my advice...

Posting in the the right thread instead of starting your own is my advice.0

I've been reading a few threads and it seems that there is always somebody who will point out to the OP that she/he is in the wrong place. I can't see what is a big deal here. If you want to answer it just answer, if you don't want to, just leave it alone. Is this website going to colapse if someby asks or write something in the place where they not suppose to?0

It won't collapse, no. But it will become much more difficult for people to find the answers to their questions. Which means there will be more questions answered a zillion times before. And so on.
I suppose it's less that people post in the wrong place, but that they feel they have to post at all. Better to see if your question has been answered first. It usually has - often loads of times before.0 -

There are already 40 pages on the Flight Delay Compensation Board each with 20 odd threads on. It's not all about what you see as a big deal. I can see the big deal with me and other people being able to find what we are looking for to both get help and offer it to others. I don't see what difficulty people have with the simple concept of looking at the board and finding the right heading.0 -

Just to add my tuppence worth here.
I agree that there are posts and I can now see the other post you referred to - and I actually did comment on that one. It is however pages and pages long. I think having a cut off point and a new thread started with new news (possibly on the same lines, but differing enough slightly (As mine is with Success)) is a better way, and easier for most people to find.
It is though, subjective. I apologise if I have offended the old guard / set way of doing things. All you do with posts like that though is put people off from commenting on the boards and contributing as you have me. And as you can see from my post - it wasn't a question it was my way of offering advice. I guess I was wrong to think it would be appreciated on this site? Ho hum :mad:0
