Pretty much any tablet on the market will do what you want from about 60 quid upwards0

You could even buy a second hand tablet on eBay. They will all show photos
watch out for the blackberry playbook though, the stock web browser is a bit crap.

I have narrowed my choice down to a Microsoft Surface RT
or Sony Xperia Tablet Z........... Your thoughts please.0 -
If you only need to browse the internet or write word docs the RT is a fantastic bit of kit for the price. Also check out the new surface being released in two weeks.
If you want apps the Sony will be better as android has loads of apps and windows rt currently doesn't have many.0 -

FTFY
I'd go for the Surface. Mainly because I really want one, and they're a pretty decent tablet.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
I bought one of these

I paid £130 from ebay and its a pretty decent spec tablet for the cash. I totally recommend them.0 -

Windows 8 doesn't work well on computers and it doesn't work well on phones, but I haven't tried it on a tablet other than a quick browse in a shop.
I try and avoid Sony since they tried to renege on a warranty some years back.
I wouldn't suggest a BB playbook, as they are rather uninspiring. I have one and rarely use it.
If you want to look at photos, then probably best to avoid a cheapie.
The other consideration is how many photos. Tablets tend to have rather limited memory, so where are you going to keep the content? A 16GB iPad is good as a window to the world, but it's not a great storage device. In my case I have a Western Digital drive which my iPad can access over WiFi.
A final consideration is whether you want to just use it via WiFi or whether you also want it to have the capability to run over a cellular mobile network (ie. you put a phone SIM in it). That will cost more; in that case of an iPad, £100 more for a given model.0 -
The trouble with Windows tablets is a lack of apps, developers can't be bothered to write them as there is no market as their is for IOS and Android. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
