I very much doubt any insurer will pay in this situation. 'Missed departure cover' frequently only covers public transport to the airport and in all cases requires you to show you left sufficient time to get to the airport to check in. In this case it appears he has admitted he didn't0

It sucks and I bet not one person who has booked a flight / holiday has ever read all the T&C's. Sadly through nerves it's come back and bit you on the a rse. the only nerve I can see is having the nerve to think someone else should stand the loss !
If travel insurance was taken out, the 'nerves' would be a declarable medical condition, as it could make a claim more likely.The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
You don't need to read the T and Cs to know that if you miss your flight you don't get a refund! That is simply common sense, on the same level as knowing that you should bring your passport.0
