Kingstreet, I wasnt given any documentation.
I went to him, as he sorted out my partners mortgage and insurance.
I believe it just tried legal and general, and didnt offer to try anymore.
Thanks again.0 -

Sounds like an L&G tied agent.
An IFA would have talked to you about other provider options and life cover only, once you were declined.
Every source of insurance should provide you with an Initial Disclosure Document to show their services and how they are paid, before you make a commitment to them.
I suspect a tied agent again, as they are really the only ones with anything to hide, fearing you'll go elsewhere and look for proper whole market advice when you discover how limited they are.I am a mortgage broker. thank you
should i consider life insurance seperately then?0 -
An IFA will advise you if you have any chance of obtaining critical illness cover at a price you feel worthwhile. You may find if offered, the premium could be two or three times normal rates, making it an awful lot more expensive.
The IFA will discuss life cover only as an alternative option, which cheaper at the outset would not be as big a drain at two or three times ordinary rate.
Hopefully, you'll at least have options.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
