Sky broadband con

Hi I'm after some advice....I have had sky for over a year now so out of contract, I added sky talk and broadband to the accout about 3 months ago (got a very good deal) however I am paying over £70 for my tv package. I had no deal offered to my on sign up. When I added the phone and internet I told the advisor that I may be canceling my tv (he said I may get an offer from sky rather than lose me as a customer). Now my sky is out of contract I called sky to cancel but they adviced me that if I cancel I will lose the deal I have with my phone and internet because I 'only received the deal because I have sky sports' I was not told this when I added the service, if this was the case then I would have not taken the offer as I was thinking (and told them) of leaving. Now I feel trapped. What can I do? Can I contest this? Will I get anywhere with them?

My understanding, and I have a saved online chat to prove this, is that telephony and viewing packages are separate and one doesn't affect the other so they MAY be calling your bluff. I have top tier TV (>£70) plus free broadband plus half price line rental.

Does this sound similar to your deal?

Hi, yes that is the deal I was given. They told me if I cancel my tv package then I will have to pay the full price line rental and the broadband will no longer be free.
