Nothing better than a nice neat form :rotfl:(I'm a tax accountant, can you tell?!) I often processed application forms for loyalty cards in my student job and I had to bite my tongue at the state they came back in about 95% of the time, and if it was a guy and he'd done it neatly he suddenly was a lot more attractive... I'll be quiet and get to comping now!!

I started comping towards the end of June after watching a TV programme, called "something for nothing" on C4, it showed a woman that had been comping and had won in excess of £300,000 of prizes
so I went on google to find comping sites and found this forum.
To date I have won 53 prizes - but waiting for a nice big win (either ITV comp or a nice holiday) :-)0 -
I've been 'comping' since the early 70's
when it was snail mail & sitting up late at night thinking of catchy slogans for labels saved from tins :rotfl:
writing out loads of postcards, filling in magazine entries by hand & sending them off
sunday mornings doing all the crosswords in the papers & sending them off
to which I did win some over the years:j
then along came the internet & diff comps, easy to enter, just a click & we're away :j
over the years it's become more & more popular with various comp sites/more compers/more competitions & I for one love it :j more the merrier :j
there's been various comps I've won when there's been thousands of entries & some I've won with lower entries as I suppose is the same for majority of us :j
I've introduced lots of people to comping over the years & the latest one was my postiewho remarked when I moved here how come i'm always getting parcels, so I told him showed him mse & such & now him & his missus are compers
:T
as said lots stick at it & some don't but all in all you've got to be in it to win it as they say so good luck to everyone no matter how much time you can manage to enter every entry counts :jplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -

Hello Glamourpuss,
No doesn't bother me at all! To echo what people have said previously I'm glad there are more compers as it means more competitions! My very first win was in 1975 (and if I can work out how to add pics to posts I'll post here as I still have it!) It is a Mr Happy mirror and I'm pretty sure (although my memory is a bit rusty) it was from The Daily Mirror newspaper (lol I'm sure that is what the paper used to be called). What I can be sure of is it was definitely a postcard entry!
I still love postcard comps (my absolute favourite) but I really like entering online now - and finding MSE Competitions Time has been fantastic! The optimism & friendliness makes comping even more fun - and in my opinion the only way that could be improved is more folk joining in the comping!
Good luck btw - not sure if you can get counselling for your new addictive habit
Rae xx
PS. I think my signature says it allYou'll not catch a thing unless your line is cast!

That;s why I started too :rotfl: thought it was a good way to distract myself during my coffee breaks at work, now I'm sorry to say I am addicted lol0 -
I love that it opens my eyes to websites and blogs I wouldn't of found otherwise. I now follow some of these regularly. At the end of the day if people expect to win all the time I don't think it's the right hobby for them.
I love the little wins, and anything that can make the rattle of the letterbox not something I dread anymore is a good thing, although I'm sure the postman thinks I fancy himStarted comping again Sept 2013
Best wins: Currys wishlist, 3 Laptop's, a PS4 and an Espresso machine • fridge freezer • £100 M&S vouchers
46 wins totalling approx £3000 since September 2013.•* Thank you to everyone that posts competitions*•.:A0 -

A few tips here:

10 How can I put a picture in my post?
Once you have found the image that you want, you need to obtain its properties. (Right click the image & select properties). The properties should end in .gif or .jpeg
Highlight & copy the image location, then return to your posting screen on MSE. Put your cursor in the post where you want the picture to appear.
Click the 'insert image' icon & remove the 'http://' text from the box which appears, (as mentioned above) & click 'OK'.
Preview the post first because the picture may be huge & stretch the page which is a bad thing. If the Preview looks OK then when you submit the post should too.
If you end up with a little red cross that is bad as you have hotlinked. It means you have directly linked to an image that the originating site does not want people to link to directly. So you will either need to find another image which isn’t protected against hotlinking or save the image & host it yourself, which is outside the scope of this Guide. There is another Image Guide elsewhere on MSE which goes into the more complex areas further.
Do remember that there are possible copyright restrictions on images on the net & these must be respected.0 -
Then:

If you want to show others an image saved on your computer, you must first upload it to the internet.
If you don't have your own webspace, there are several free sites that will let you host pictures:
No registration required (but less control over images):
http://www.tinypic.com/
http://imageshack.us/
http://xs.to/index.php/
Registeration required (but more control over images):

http://www.imagecave.com/

After you have uploaded your image, you will usually be given the url for your image to use as shown in the posts above.0 -
I am quite new to serious comping too - just over a year now. When I first started I was entering everything like crazy and winning loads of small/random prizes. I've slowed down a bit now and I don't win as much - but what I do win, I really want!
I like the selflessness of MSE compers, pretty much everyone is happy to help and share with each other which is great. Plus more people definitely means more comps. I know everyone dreams of winning the ITV comps but they are so popular, with non-compers alike that the chances of winning are ridiculously slim (but still fingers crossed aye!)
I like seeing new compers on the board - we were all there once!0
