Bobex ltd have a " proposal to strike off" on companies house.
Once they get struck off their will be little chance of getting any money back from them even for the postage costs. you will need to contact Companies
House and halt the strike off (in effect stopping the company from being closed down).0 -
I have just emailed Discount Vouchers asking them to explain why I am not being fully refunded when these devices "" not as described" under the sale of goods act".
Will wait for a reply.0 -
Who has the op got the contract with? I've never dealt with these third party sites0

as the saying goes, if the deal seems to good to be true, it usually is.0

True. But I didn't know DiscountVouchers.co.uk would be so unreputable!0

Hi everyone,
DiscountVouchers have asked us to post the below on their behalf. MSE does not endorse anything posted for a company.
Despite our best efforts to ensure that all Daily Deals and Merchants featured on Discountvouchers.co.uk were genuine, it came to our attention that one Merchant Koolwears may have supplied goods that were potentially counterfeit.
We carried out our own investigation and alongside Bose determined that there were 2 Bose products, supplied by Koolwears in January 2013, which we are almost certain were not originally manufactured by Bose.
All customers who purchased vouchers for these products were contacted yesterday and invited to claim a refund for the cost of the voucher purchased on our website.
Trading Standards are carrying out investigations into the trading affairs of Koolwears (who renamed themselves Bobex in March).
We deeply regret any inconvenience this has caused our customers. We successfully sold 1772 Daily Deals last year, just 2 Deals are involved in this incident. Any questions regarding the two affected Bose products should be directed to bose@discountvouchers.co.uk.
We have received some feedback from customers asking why we are unable to refund the postage for the Bose products being returned to us, unfortunately the legal agreement and settlement we have entered into doesn’t cover this.
However, as it is Breast Cancer Awareness month (http://www.breastcancercare.org.uk/) we have decided to donate the equivalent of the cost of first class postage (£3) for every returned item.
We do hope you agree to supporting such a worthwhile charity, for a cause that touches so many people across the UK.
Thank you for your understanding.

I don't understand how you can make a charity donation , but can't pay the postage. That makes no sense whatsoever.
Could you explain that?
I also think your message telling people you would not enter into any discussion was extremely unbusinesslike .
How about some customer service training?
Your customers have lost money and your trying emotional blackmail?0 -
I still think it is unfair that we can't get our initial postage cost back and also have to pay for the postage to send the item back to Discount Vouchers. Making that donation to charity doesn't make sense either.
Maybe 1772 Daily Deals were sold successfully last year with only 2 turning out to be fakes, but it was my first purchase of a Daily Deal and I wouldn't trust Discount Vouchers again.
Because even when something does turn out to be fake I am still out of pocket.
Maybe legally you don't have to refund the £5 postage cost we paid directly to Koolwears, or the £3.70 plus packaging costs it will cost to return the item to you, but morally you should.
The customer shouldn't be out of pocket for something that is not their fault.0 -
'Donate the equivalent of the cost of first class postage'? What a joke.
I have no dealings with any of these companies but that is just silly.
Why not just give people the postage back?

Post number 18.
Has anyone asked consumer direct whether discount vouchers should pay the postage. Why would you want a return on fake goods any way-what use are they apart from to sell on to some other unlucky buyer.0
